Well. We don't really know what we have at WR at this point.

With the combo of Locker/CBJ/Mett throwing the ball last year, Mett and Hunter never really got a shot. If they were on a team with a real QB, then maybe they would look better.

It really just depends on how well Mariota can make the current WRs look. If Mariota steps in and everyone elevates their game, then there is no reason to go out and spend $10M/year on a WR.

If we saw Hunter, Wright and DBG all play to their potential, then there really isn't any room for another WR. Especially one that will command a high price tag.

I would rather spend that money on the OL/DL/secondary next year.

O-Line? So what RT, LG, & C? Best youre gonna get next free agency at Tackle is Browns RT Mitchell Schwartz, and hes not even that good.
Best guard scheduled to hit the market is Marshal Yanda, but he'll never leave Baltimore, maybe the best Guard in football today.

2016 offers little in the way of FA's we'll get a shot at, probably the reason we went hard this off season, Hilton would be a big win for anyone who adds him.

Still wondering why Evan Mathis is still unsigned tho...

We don't have to go out and break the bank on 1 player you know? ... We could also sign several players at several positions too.

The point is, we have holes that need to be filled before going after luxury players. Now if the WRs don't pan out, or if the rest of the team comes together better than expected, then sure go after Hilton ... but there's just to many unsettled factors right now. That's why this thread is about 6 months too early

QB, LT, WR, thats the order of importance on offense

Its not that simple. You don't just start throwing money at a position because its next on the 'order of importance'

Plus I said earlier that we could potentially fill *multiple* positions with the same amount of money that we could get TY for.

If we had the option of:

    (a) replacing sh*tty LG and RT play with solid play at both positions

    or

    (b) replacing solid WR play with very good WR play at 1 postion

I would choose (a) every time . A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. We need to replace those weak links before we beef up links that are already functioning at a capable level.

You could make an argument for DRAFTING this way ... because we all know you build for the future in the draft.

But when it comes to FA, we need to be focusing on upgrading our weakest spots.
