Training Camp Begins A Week From Today!

My 2 biggest interests are the OL, and everyone staying healthy.

After that, there's a lot of changes I'm curious about. I think Sankey can have a good year if the OL isn't swiss cheese. Curious of the additions of Searcy and Cox, and how they affect the players around them. Mariota of course, and how he handles game speed. Can KW stay on his feet and run routes?

Is Orakpo expected to take part, or his he still hurt?

 

I want to see how Lebeau and Horton have done with this 3-4 Defense in its second year.So many young guys to watch as well. We really need a few guys to step up.

 

If I remember correctly (from what I've read), Orakpo was expected to be a go once TC arrives. They kept him out of team drills during OTAs as a precaution and to let him rest. He probably only has to worry about new terminologies and maybe a few wrinkles from the ol' original LeBeau.

 

Orakpo was held back in OTA's so he'd be 110% for camp..

But yes if we simply stay healthy as a team we'll be alright.

 

I still wouldn't be surprised if Antonio Andrews out shines the other RBs

 

I feel bad for Ray Horton. He was getting head coach interviews before he came here. Then he inherits a defense with one good player on it and gets demoted from Defensive Coordinator to Assistant to the Defensive Coordinator. He's basically Dwight Schrute now.

We didn't pursue the LeBeau signing too hard tho, he just fell into our laps. If we pressed hard for LeBeau then ok feel for Ray, but Ray is like his son, they have a ton of history together, Im sure Ray doesn't see it the way you do.

 

I thought Labeau was being brought in as a different set of eyes for talent or as some kind of consultant, but from what I understand he's calling the plays on game day. Horton is helping with the game plan and installation throughout the week. That's a demotion.

If I was Horton I'd be peeved. A proven DC in two different organizations who is getting HC interviews gets demoted for no real reason. The defense was bad, but it's been bad for the last six years because we don't have any talent.

 

Yes he will call plays, but he also held back on installing his 3-4, thinks the team is better off in year-2 under Hortons defense, doesn't want to confuse the team further he said...

But again I think because of the relationship Horton and LeBeau share its not as bad as you think
