Percy didn't break 1,000 yards rushing or receiving in any season. He was good but he couldn't put a team on his back.

Typical. It doesnt matter what LSU does, they will always start off over rated. Same goes for teams like ND and Clemson.

TCU definitely got left out last season so I really dont have a problem with seeing them in the drivers seat this year.

If anyone had a gripe about being left out last year it's Baylor since they beat TCU head to head.

Got to respect Gary Patterson though. He took the news like a man while Briles bitched and moaned. The attitude difference showed in the bowl games. Baylor loses to Mich St while TCU completely destroys Ole Miss.

On one hand, I don't necessarily disagree. It is ridiculous that the supposed greatest coach in CFB has so consistently fielded an unprepared/disinterested team in the post-season. Also, it's frustrating how he has been completely incapable of adjusting to up tempo offenses. I also don't understand how the secondary has been so pitiful as of late, considering that Saban was a DB coach. He did take an interesting gamble with Kiffin, but it remains to be seen whether or not it'll pay off. Of course, as was already mentioned, he has the unenviable task of having to prepare for multiple offensive types that are all near the best at what they do. Traditionally, Saban has just built his teams to be able to beat someone like LSU, because if he could do that, he could beat anyone else on talent alone. But now, the ground-and-pound offense is becoming a thing of the past and the up-tempo is taking over, and Saban just doesn't seem capable of catching up. It's almost like Saban is Jeff Fisher, only if Fisher had been able to coach for awhile during the era where his style of football was en vogue.

On the other hand, it's probably extremely difficult to get these guys motivated for meaningless games where everyone and their mother is predicting them to destroy the competition. I know Saban has complained about how the media builds Bama up and how it makes his job much harder in so far as getting his players to focus and stick to the process, and I imagine it is difficult when everyone acts like you can't be beaten.

So, I don't know. Can I fault Saban for failing to overcome human nature? Not completely. I didn't appreciate him trying to beat the up-tempo stuff from the podium as opposed to the field, and hopefully he starts adapting.

Probably doesnt hurt that TCU's program is still fairly new among traditional power conference teams. Still lots of hype and motivation going into the offseason even if they did get the shaft.

Why is everyone saying TCU got the shaft??

Who would they have replaced that didn't deserve a spot?

    Let me guess... OSU?

TCU should have beat Baylor if they wanted to play in the playoffs.
