Pre-Game Thread Preseason Game 1: Titans @ Falcons

The Defense looked very weak...I hope that improves fast. Someone at RT got destroyed in the 4th, and Schweke/Sankey looked bad. I liked Mett and Mariota overall. Cobb ran hard. I'm nervous about the O line

 

The call was GODAWFUL. So predictable. best case is he throws it at sankeys feet.

 

It's our first game. We are probably playing 'possum somewhat too. (not that Atlanta did either) just saying, Lets not throw in the towel just yet. Lewan looked good and seemed to deliver on his "give 100% effort" and play through the whistle effort. I saw some nastiness out of his effort. Schwenke did get handled though.

First team defense was a disappointment, for me too. Griff made some nice tackles early on though. We will get it corrected. Mariota needs more live game reps before he gets the feel of the NFL. It will come. We just gotta be patient.

 

By the way... The REF had a vibrator running in his pants all night........

 

Some of those guys on the OL were clearly getting beat by the Falcon defense. No matter who you have at QB, it's going to be a nightmare for him not being protected. Then again, I'm preaching to the choir when it comes to that. I like the way MM bounced back from two pretty crappy starts. He didn't get rattled and if he wasn't pulled from the game, he would have had a good chance to keep truckin'. Looking forward to the next game and remember guys, it's the first preseason game. There's so much more football and chances to shine for our star QB.

 

Damn NFLN... start showing the game with 5 minutes left in 1st half.

I thought Mariota did great for the first time ever playing a NFL game. He got the early jitters out, got hit, made some bad decisions and made some great looking throws. He will get better and better. Hell, Wilson got stripped on the first play tonight by Miller. It happens to the best of them. Im not sure why everyone in here is acting like he should have been like "Jesus" tonight. I really hope that our o-line can give him some time. He has a great arm and reads the field really well. He needs someone to throw to and he has not even run with the ball yet.

Dont worry. He will get this worked out. I am not so sure about the rest of the team though.

 

I'm sorry it didn't live up to your high standards. Next week, I'll post a schedule with timed intervals that each member is allowed to post, as well as what topics are approved and for how long before they become redundant.
