Pre-Game Thread Preseason Game 1: Titans @ Falcons

Because that's how posters such as myself have portrayed him as in the last four months. I didn't watch the game but nothing he did desuaded me!

 

Im an Oregon Alum. Ive been watching Duck football for a long time now, before they were good and had "those" uniforms. I have been super impressed at what he did in Eugene and feel like it will translate into the NFL. But it was his first game. EVER. How many QBs have had a perfect opening rep? (I am really interested to know, but too lazy to look it up so maybe i dont care that much)

 

I think getting the interception and fumble over with in first preseason game can do wonders for camp now. He is human and needs to keep working. He did bounce back and had some nice throws. Again this is preseason, glad to work kinks out now. He will do fine.

To be fair, he could throw three picks a game for the rest of the season and we'd still have Oregon homers that aren't dissuaded.

Shaky start from Mariota. The pick was bad, but it was bad on all accounts -- Mariota, OL, Sankey. The fumble was unfortunate, won't happen often. He settled in and finished 7/8. Overall a decent debut, some learning experiences.

Sankey stinks. God I can't watch him run. Looks like a MAJOR MISS by Webster. Antonio Andrews was impressive.

Douglas and Mariota have some nice chemistry. DGB's catch was gorgeous, way to adjust and use that massive frame. Hunter is the total opposite, what a BUM!! Gives me hope DGB will be the anti-Hunter.

OL was freaking awful, Schwenke and Bell specifically. At least Schwenke has a ton of competition from Gallik, Velasco and possibly Ikard. Between the 4, they better be able to find a competent C. RT scares me more because Bell doesn't really have any competition. I doubt Poutasi beats him out.

Defense was pretty atrocious, but I hope we can chalk that up to pre-season vanilla schemes.

 

That SAC Schwenke allowed was ugly

 

I told y'all when we drafted schwenke he was garbage. Some dummy put his "awesome workout video" and schwenk got blown off the line every single snap. I never have been impressed by that dude

 

That's a great recap of the game no one can argue about the points you made, because both Mariota and Mett were pressured and hurried on some throws and even CBJ was but that doesn't really count lol.

It's so hard to take Whitehurst seriously but he is the most experienced QB on our roster wow.
