Douglas has always stepped in when White or Julio were injured. I tihnk he'll be our next Nate Washington... our fans will always want to bench him or trade him every season but he'll continually produce. If Hunter or DGB step up its another story, but no reason to bench these players just cause they're older.

edit: regarding Nicks its how much he wants to paly like he used to. He was awful with the colts but I could see him recover here. if he doesn't he wont have a spot here, lot of 'depth' at wr.

That's exactly how I see Douglas, a vet WR that can be consistent and help move the ball. Much like Nate was the last few years he was here.

It was pretty odd that a lot if people wanted to get rid of Nate but he kept being productive.

Douglas looked like what he is...a very good pro.
    Sankey looks lost.
    Levitre is horrible.
D looked lost against the 1st stringers.

I'm not optimistic at all about our run game. That goes from blocking, to the actual backs. I don't think that there is much difference between McCluster/Sankey and Cobb/Andrews. I hope Cobb/Andrews get plenty of touches the next few weeks. That power run game is going to fair better than what the other two provide.

Our offensive line HAS to improve, Mariota will get killed, then Mett will shortly follow. Mathis is still a free agent and I'd love to bring him in. Sadly, I do not think having that improvement will help Schwenke at all. I really hope Galik and Poutasi, because this is going to be the most frustrating part of the season by far.

I think we are going to be *okay* with Wright, Douglas, and Walker. It would be real nice if DGB can come on quick, because I have no faith that Hunter is going to get it. Guy just doesn't seem to want to WORK to be a standout player.

Sweet mother of god, corner back has to be a top priority in free agency or the draft next year. We are flat out getting torched out there. I'm not high on McCourty, but if he goes down, we have no one near his level and the fall off after Cox is drastic. Searcy looks like our new Chris Hope and at his age I expect him to be a solid player for us for years.

The run defense looked good. Couldn't get much of a look at pass rush. I really think they held these guys back. Casey, Orakpo, Brown, and Morgan should give us a steady pass rush all game and give us many different looks. I won't be concerned about this until after game 1.

The only thing I am really concerned about, is offensive line play. Center is a gigantic issue for us right now.

1st thought is that it's going to be a long season watching the d get run over all day long again and again.

2nd thought is how bad will the offense have to be to get whis fired? If we are 2-14 again I'm ready for the change. I think the interior oline , lack of playmakers barring somebody breaking out, and porous defense could result in as terrible a year as last year.

Our problems run all the way up to the ownership.. Someone has got to be confident and competent enough to get rid of Webster and rebuild that FO. Ruston and his "streamlined" decision making is never going to get it done. He'll do JUST enough for our disinterested ownership to keep him around.

We need to pump some fresh blood into this organization! Our lips are turning two-tone blue :hang:

Defense played soft. Not wanting to tip their hat too early I'm guessing.
Coty shouldn't be playing outside CB.

On offense. Levitre still sucks and was getting blown up. Same with Schwenke. I don't see Bell lasting at RT either.
Andrews and Cobb looked great. Always moving forward, even after being hit (which is something I'm not used to see our RBs do and is nice to see).
Fowler looked decent. Would have liked to see him get a couple carries.
    Velasco should be starting.
DGB looked really nice going up and getting the ball.
Zach and Marcus both looked solid in my opinion.
Receivers and Tight Ends were catching the ball well.

At this point I'm wondering if we should go with LeVitre/Velasco/Galik/Warmack/BiggerPo as our OL
