Granted, Shwenke flat out got beat by his man, but Mariota had avoided him...only to get sacked by the DL that beat Levitre. However, watch what happened (to Levitre) on that play more closely. The Defender grabs the collar and basically does a "horse-collar tackle" ....from the front. Today's jersey's don't give you anything to grasp a hold of, so to be able to sling an OL like that, you have to get your hands on the collar and jerk with both hands, forcefully. That's a horse collar tackle by definition.

Is that a penalty in the NFL, and if not, why not? It's dirtier than a WR pushing off to make a catch. Imagine an OL doing that same move on any given play. They'd be called for holding all day long.

Just a little word of advice ... On this board anything and I mean anything that is pointed out in anyway that seems like it may justify a mistake by A. Levitre ... Will be meet with some form of hostility.

Now about your point ... Yes he did get horse collared BUT it was Levitre

    Nope perfectly legal push-pull technique.

Also a horse-collar is by definition from behind.

You have to grab from the back of the inside of the jersey for it to be a horse collar. The idea is keep the legs from getting caught under the runner.

Totally legal and totally Levitre sucking.

Horse collar is not a penalty if the player is still inside the tackle box. Even if he did grab him from behind, it wouldn't have been flagged.
