We have not had a qb for ten years, I hope we have 2 now. I like where we are at qb. No way I would trade Mett unless it was for a first round pick. The way injuries are you need two good qb's plus they are both on cheap rookie deals. I never ever want to see CBJ on the field again, in a regular season game

If Marcus can play 16 games this year and look like a big time QB by the end of the season - them let's revisit trading backups.
Until then - no reason to gamble on trading.

Seriously I hope Mett succeeds and I will go on and root for him as long as he gets out of our division. Seems like a good guy. Some posters take it too far ragging on a Titan...

The same people that want to trade Mett now wet their pants about drafting Jalston Fowler and trading up to get Taylor Thompson. Cause that's what our 4th rounders are worth. We spent a 2nd on Sankey.

Exactly. I mentioned the same yesterday. Even if you were to haul in a Hail Mary and get a 2nd for him there's no reason to assume we wouldn't draft another Chris Henry..

Have always liked Mett, since his early LSU days. Dude can straight up sling the rock when given the opportunity.

Mett was just a victim of not having enough time and weapons to prove himself.

Are we letting a potential starting QB rot the bench? I would say so. It makes me feel really awkward because I really like Mett and to have him as a backup, when I really believe he could start for a handful of teams.

I was making a point. Sorry you missed it.

No one with any kind of legitimacy is making anything out of how Mett played against backups in the first preseason game. Bortles looked like the second-coming of Johnny Unitas last preseason and we saw how that worked out once the games counted.

The best thing for Mett's career right now is to prepare himself for the opportunity (he'll likely get at some point) to come in and win a football game. Until THAT happens, and happens more than once, Mett will remain a #2 with ZERO chance of ever starting for a NFL team.

He's got to show a lot more than he has to date for any franchise to give up anything for him, let alone, invest their future in him.
