    Pretty much how i feel. I like Mariota too i just hope like hell we end up on the right side of this in the long run.

    Yeah me too.

    It's just better and more attractive for fans to say they have a QB that was the #2 pick as opposed to a late rounder.

    Metts current rookie contract would carry over in a trade correct? So really a team giving up a 2 for him could easily switch direction if it didn't work out. I mean we throw away our 2nd round pick almost annually.

    I assume his contract would remain but, again, you're talking about a team making a major commitment giving up a second-round pick. He's not done enough to warrant this, IMO.

    I just think it's ridiculous to think he has any trade value right now. If he steps in and wins some games this season, then I'd love to see the Titans get a early pick for him in 2016.

    I don't realistically see someone offering a 2nd rounder for him. But I would expect via due diligence that the Browns/Bills would call and offer a 4th (which I wouldn't take). They should be calling Denver, New England, and Tampa as well.

    I also don't feel like trading a 2nd round pick for a QB on a rookie contract ties a team to anything beyond one year. Let's say the Bills traded their 2nd rounder for Glennon in Tampa. If he bombed, or was average, or anything they could switch direction without a cap issue.
