We've done pretty poorly at guard ever since Jake Scott left/retired/got old.

 

I don't understand this lack of effort by our GM. Even if he believed Levitre was merely hurt the last 2 seasons to explain the vast amounts of below average play, how do you not take a guy who is CLEARLY a better OG than anyone we currently have and who is asking for LESS than one of our starters makes. And we have PLENTY of cap space and hedges our bets in case he's wrong and Levitre is just done. And, it shows the rest of the OL that I dont care if you were a first round draft pick or getting paid 6-7mil/yr, if you dont get it done, we will find someone else who will!

Wasn't he like the top rated guard last year? I remember hearing NFL network saying he wanted to be the highest paid guard. I'm guessing his age is a key factor in why he wasn't gotten that contract.
