I don't understand the point in the last paragraph.

You say we wouldn't get him because, if we are low balling, he will go to a contender.

Well there you go. Bad teams can't get good players at a discount.

I don't see how that is the FO's fault. It's common sense.

I assure you, overpaying for nearly washed up guards is not going to put us in a great position, either.

Everyone bitches about Levitre, but what you are suggesting we do is exactly what we did. Over payed to get a good free agent to come here. It didn't work. So if we don't do it again, it's because of incompetence?

Sounds like we're screwed either way to me.

So you'd rather stick with what we've got?

Good luck seeing a full season of Mariotta behind this line.

Who cares if it's a one year deal? I would understand if we gave him a levitre deal but we will give him one, maybe two years max. It's not like we don't have the cap space...you're beginning to sound like bud....

Our line is terrible and we just drafted a franchise quarterback. How about we try to give the kid a chance and sign what would be a clear upgrade at our ****** guard position.

It's more than likely he wants a multi year commitment no matter where he goes. The Titans are in no position to give out "prove it" deals unless the player has just been horrible or suspended or something and no one else wants them. Great players just don't come to a bad team to prove their worth. They come for the money. (And then proceed to give us the worst years of their careers, usually)

If we overpay him on a 1 year deal what does it matter? It doesn't hurt the team's future salary cap if he totally busts. The only thing it hurts is the bottom line.

Yet you'd rather us stick with Levitre as starter and do nothing!

Exactly. The cap room is there and it's not our money. Why not protect the investment they just drafted? Seems dumb not to if you ask me.

We need to bring this guy in on a 1 yr deal no matter the cost. If its 2 or more years we need to worry about the money. He can at least bring depth and competition.

I've read the words "Titans" and "monitoring" too often with free agents that always leads to absolutely nothing. This won't either.

As much as I hate this OL right now, I'm not convinced this guy would fix it anyway.
