I actually hope Mett continues to develop/shine, so that defenses will know....if you try to pull a Terrell Suggs and dive for the starting QB's knees, to injure him....you're gonna get a replacement (QB) that might very well light your arse up even worse. :)

That's precisely what he did. Because Locker, aside from the Cowboys game, was not playing bad...in fact, when he came back for the Cleveland game, he was lighting it up. But got injured again...even though it was just a thumb injury. Locker's ability to play wasn't the issue. It was the fact that he just could never stay healthy.

Thus, Mett got an extended look...meaning Whiz had already thrown in the towel on the season. If he immediately went back to Locker, we could have won 6 or 7 games last season. So, yeah...going with Mett so early and sticking with him was = throwing games to put yourself close enough in the draft order, to get a marquee QB and early picks in each round.

It may help explain why he got so ultra-conservative in his play-calling in the Washington game. We had that game, like the Cleveland game, in the bag. People say "no coach willingly throws games." Really? Cause if you watch Tampa Bay's final game last year, they threw that damn game, and there is no argument to be made against it. They had a massive lead heading into the 4th Qtr, and treated it like a pre-season game, putting in most of their second and third team players in. Lovie Smith knew he was about to lose that No.1 spot in the draft, and he made sure not to let it get away.

Good vid, @520 I thought the most interesting part was when he said they should offer a 3rd for him and the bald guy looked at him like he was crazy for offering something that high for him... Would you trade him for a third right now? I would

Why? He's far more valuable to the Titans as a backup, than a 3rd Rd pick in next year's draft. That's the kind of trade deal you'd expect Obama to make with Iran....oh, wait...he already did that. :)

The reason we lost to the skins was on Whiffin taking a terrible angle on Garcon down the sideline! A tick could of pushed him OB!

I would keep Mett for this season. He cost very little and only gets more valuable to other teams. When the day comes to trade him, whenever it is, I would want at least a 1st or a Pro Bowl player at another position. QB is the most important position in football, if you want to trade for one you have to willing to PAY for it.

The way Whiz talks, he won't be trading Mett any time soon. I would guess there is a price that would change his mind...but I doubt anyone is willing to offer it up.

Can we put this to rest now that the head coach has said he isnt going to be traded?
