No one is going to trade a probowl player or a 1st round draft pick for a teams backup QB lol. That will NEVER happen.

The only way we could get a 1st for Mett is if Mariota goes down, and Mett comes in and absolutely tears it up during the regular season for multiple games ... and WINS multiple games.

I don't buy the narrative that Mett will get MORE valuable by sitting on the bench all season long.

Assuming Mariota stays healthy all year and Mett doesn't get to play much at all, then Metts value will be highest at the end of this preseason.

By the end of the year, teams will have more options (FA, draft) ... that will drive Metts value down.

It is really rare that a team truely fixes their QB problem via FA.
I think around draft time his value will be the highest...a QB needy team will realize that they have to trade away the farm to move up and get one of the QBs coming out in the draft or that Mett is better than any of the QBs available when they draft and that is when Mett could be moved.

Mett is worth more to us on the team than a 3rd round pick. Would you trade him now straight up for Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Zavier Gooden, or Jeremiah Poutasi? Because those are the last few 3rd round picks who haven't played well. Mett is more valuable than some 3rd rounder - and I think if we wait another year we can get much more. When the Cardinals got Kolb from Philly, and when the Texans got Schaub from Atlanta, they both gave up 2, 2nd round picks. That would be fantastic if we could get that.

I almost spit my drink all over the monitor. Are you kidding me?? C'mon tell me you are.

Locker couldn't play worth a **** even when he was healthy. Sure Locker had the random game where he played decently but he would follow up with four or five stinkers before having another decent game. Mediocre and inconsistent.

Locker had no pocket presence at all and struggled badly with accuracy. If you go back and look at his stats there are many games where he struggled to complete 50% or half his passes.

In back to back games last season against Cincy and Dallas he was so bad Troy Aikman was telling viewers Locker was not NFL QB material and was struggling to hit passes on target. In both games back to back he completed 16 of 34 passes less than 50% or half his passes. I doubt very seriously if we would've won six or seven games with him playing terrible like that.

In 2013 we were at Houston final minute had the game won but Locker overthrew Britt on a simple pass and Britt was wide open. We lost that game due to that overthrow. Also that same year Locker was starter at home against the 0-10 Jaguars and in entire first half had us losing 13-0 he threw a pick, had a fumble before getting hurt for the 100th time. Fitzpatrick came in and immediately the offense came to life and scored but we lost by two points 29-27 due to Locker.

The team didn't throw games by putting Mett in. After all Mett was way better than Locker everyone saw that from the get go. Mett had a 110 QB rating and set a MNF record against Pittsburgh including an 80 yard bomb. In his first game he set a franchise pass record throwing for 300 yards. Against Philly he threw for 350 yards including 8 passes over twenty yards a play. Sounds like a pretty good QB to me.

Mett had an 83.4 QB rating in his rookie year. Locker in his fourth year had a 70.9. Ask any NFL analyst or folks who seriously follow NFL they'll tell you Mett is way better than Locker.

Locker was so bad last year he just quit and retired. He pretty much knew the only job he might get would be as a backup QB. Another thing i saw as odd is Locker never moved his family here the whole time he played in TN that shows me he didn't plan on being around long.

    False.

Jake Locker would usually follow up a good game with an injury.

    LOL,your right.

Honestly though for the ones that stubbornly continue to support Locker he wasn't that good he couldn't get the team to win consistently or play well himself. Go back watch the games and go look at the stats. Many games he just wasn't completing the amount of passes he should've been because his accuracy was terrible. He'd play good one game but follow up with four crappy games.

In 2013 offseason this team had Locker as starter and Whitehurst as backup. Pretty much all publications had this team ranked number 32 dead last in QB rankings. Why???? maybe because Locker was mediocre and Whitehurst was too. One thing GM Webster did right was pick the best QB in each of the last two drafts.

Mett was best QB out of 2014 draft and Mariota best available from 2015 draft. In two years we went from dead last to top ten in QB rankings. We are looking better now at QB we have a franchise caliber QB in Mariota and another QB Mett who could start with one of the 32 NFL teams.

Also notice how the media,ESPN,Tennessean pretty much all of them are saying there is finally hope and the team is looking better at QB now than they have in years. They are talking about how there is renewed hope and everything is looking much better and attendance records were shattered at practices. All this pretty much is saying in a subtle way is that Locker failed and wasn't that good.
