He was drafted as a very versatile FB who can run, catch and block.

That being said, Whiz will probably just use him to hold the ball on the tee for kickoffs during windy games.

Fowler Almost Quit Football - Al.com

Good read here on Fowler's history at Alabama. A friend of mine who lives in Bama and goes to most of the games told me that, prior to the injury, he looked very much like Jerome Bettis. Good power and vision.

At most schools, Fowler would have returned as the starting tailback, but at Alabama, you've got guys like Yeldon, Lacy, Henry, etc. to compete with for snaps.

I'm very interested to see how Fowler will fit into our offense. Maybe we do use him as just a blocker, but I've got a hunch there's more to it than that.

I mean its obvious Whiz likes a FB, he did use Klug a lot more than anyone probaly should use a DT turned FB.

Back to the OLine subject. What happens if Levitre does get cut? Would depth be a concern? I know there's Stingley as a backup, but other than that...?

Klugs the man though. Fowler will probably prevent us from seeing any more Klug catches. Boo.

We have a "heavy" package that features Fowler at RB, and Klug at FB, thats over 500lbs of trouble barreling down the A-Gap, hate to be the LB on the other side of that play.....

and Fowler is fast for his size...and has hands....I would seriously use him the redzone on both pass and run plays. Nasty.

Vernon Davis filled TE pretty well while Walker was in SF

I know he roams free cause the D basically lets him, but he usually makes the most of his targets

basically his contract was already paid up and the hit has already taken place this season. No sense in cutting the guy at this point
