It has never been debunked ... I have only seen you post 1 article about debunking his garbage time success theory, however that article was full of flaws (as pointed out by me and others on this board) ... yet you ignored that as well.

what stats? He didn't convert as many 3rd downs as you'd like...sure. I've said MANY MANY TIMES that's an area he could improve..

garbage time..not fact..debunked many many times.

also ya Jake had better stats...but tell me what happened at near the end of the year when Jake played with the same cast of characters mett did? Jake was absolutely terrible. There another one of your "facts" put into perspective.

that's not even taking into account your judging mett as you would a veteran...not a rookie...which he was. His two best games..philly and Pitt..he had a majority of his yards while the team was.within 14. Ya...garbage time! Sure

Show me where it was debunked ... and I will show you they were wrong.

Only 520's opinion that his yards didn't come in garbage time was debunked. Again, the simple answer, 520, is that his QBR is a lot lower than his QB rating. Why? Because QBR doesn't reward you for getting yards and completions and yards per attempt averages in GARBAGE TIME.

Take a look at each game he played and compare his qb rating in the game to his QBR if you want a more specific breakdown. We have done this a few times and you have had no response to it.

We have proven this, you have not. You keep saying you have but where is your proof? Now if you have some, go debunk the QBR rating because that is your first hurdle in being able to claim he didn't wrack up all those stats in garbage time.

    no

the fact he didn't rack up all the yards in garbage time tells me he didn't do that.

You say he didn't rack up the yards in garbage time, but that really isn't true.

Now I know what you (and the so called 'experts') trying to debunk this are looking at. They are looking at his break down of yards per quarter. (see table below)

    upload_2015-9-2_10-17-1.png

Now looking at this chart, on the surface you would appear to be right. His yards are spread pretty evenly across the quarters. But the major flaw with this thinking is that you ASSUME that all garbage yards must come in the 4th Q. That is not the case at all.

If you and your 'experts' would take the time to dive a little further into the stats, you would realize that an ALARMINGLY HIGH AMOUNT OF HIS STATS CAME IN GARBAGE SITUATIONS. (see the table below)

    upload_2015-9-2_10-19-31.png

Nearly ALL of Metts yards came in situations where the offense had 10 yards or more to go before reaching a 1st down.

Now if we think about this situation from a defensive stand point, the D is perfectly fine allowing chunk yardage plays, as long as the O does not pick of the 1st down. So for the D, they are essentially in a prevent D in these situations. (they will give up the underneath easy throws)

And one thing I want to point out about this is the completion % goes up in the 10+ yard situations, but the % of 1st down conversions goes down ... this shows that Mett is just taking what the D is giving him in these situations a lot of times, but he is not picking up what he needs.

This is absolutely boosting Metts stats.

Now lets look at 1 more table...

    upload_2015-9-2_10-25-18.png

If we think back to the 1st table, it shows that Mett gets his yards evenly throughout the game ... we ASSUMED that 1st/2nd/3rd quarters weren't garbage time. But in reality, Nearly ALL of Metts yards (~80%) came while the Titans were trailing.

Again, if we think about this rationally ... when a team is winning, the D tends to play a little more conservative. They will give up the underneath stuff as long as they can stop the big scoring plays. Mett is thriving on this.

This is not an opinion ... these are facts.

@Gut ... you think 520 will respond to this one?

the chart does prove you wrong idiot. So what, you think Zach should of said "hold up guys...were losing cuz this is a ****** team. Don't let me pass anymore."lmmfao.

every single QB in history benefits from this...but if you think teams are running prevent d winning by a touchdown midway through the second that's just downright ridiculous.

"hey Zach got most of his yards while the team was losing!!!"

no **** Sherlock...he qb'd a 2-14 team he went 0-6 on and went 2-8 including a lucky win over the jags with a vet qb!The team sucked! No team runs prevent d winning by a td in the second and third quarters. If you thought all that bs helped your case you are sorely mistaken. If that shart(yes I meant shart cuz its a ****** chart) showed he had like 900 yards in the fouth quarter maybe you'd have something going..

also as far as your +10 yard thing..might that be a result of a ****** run game, piss poor o line, and an amazingly maddening amount of penalties. How many qbs convert a large part of 3rd and longs...especially rookies lmao.
