Did no one watch the Gronk - Hernandez combo before he went to jail?

Coffman is an absolutely fantastic receiver and he's showed in the regular season he can be good. His TD catch vs Pitt last year was one of the highlights of the year. Our 5 WR set should be:

    Wright, Douglas, DGB, Coffman, Hunter/Supernaw.

Which is absolutely beastly. Coffman was the one player I did not want to see get cut because he can be motioned and moved around so well due to being a WR in a TE body. I don't know that Supernaw makes it through the first roster shakeup but I think Coffman is going to end up being a big player for us this year.

Not really shocked about the WR position. People here thought we were deep at WR? Wright is our best player and Douglas is a vet, outside of that? DGB, a rookie, who is still pretty raw. Justin Hunter, the definition of inconsistent. An old and beat up Hakeem Nicks and a 7th round pick who didn't show anything during camp. Potential is the key word with most of these guys. I'll take an extra TE or 2 who actually performed well over not so great wide receivers.

This added on to the fact, those 2 TE's probably can contribute on special teams.

Nicks doesn't do special teams and Tre didn't do very well on them either.

And Coffman and Supernaw both can do ST. Probably the two claimed today will be ST players as well. If Rico gets put on PS he could be pulled up if need be for WR depth. Pohels is going to PS also . I like keeping the best 53 we can .

Lol some slight overreactions in here. Who did we cut that should have made the roster? Truly? Hakeem Nicks? Lol.

Some of the #s may be odd (4 WR, 8 OL & 5 TE) but we initially only kept 4 WR last year, and surely we'll be back at 5 after week one, at the latest (when vet contracts aren't guaranteed).. as for the OL, the 3 reserves are versatile, and you're never going to need more than 3 reserves in a game..if an inj or 2 occurs, they'll sign another before the next game.

2 TEs got rewarded for their play (Coffman & Supernaw) and in theory, we should never complain about rewarding the types of performances those 2 guys put up all pre-season. They won't keep 5 for long, but I have no immediate issue with it. Coffman will probably be re-signed tomorrow.

Our depth kinda sucks, they didn't cut anyone that deserved to sitck.

I haven't watched too much preseason but how has JALSTON FOWLER looked? Still scratching my head at that pick especially with having so many blocking Tes that could be back there.

Just a thought, why did coffman get cut when we got west? If cobb was put on ir, doesn't that free up a roster spot?
