Didn't the Bucs start a rookie at LT against Orakpo? I expect him to get his hands on the rusher and not just whiff, is that too much to ask?

The Bucs started a more talented second round rookie. Poutasi is just not that good, not yet anyway.

Orakpo beat his man quite a few times.

Got some holding calls and some sacks for other guys.

This was an A+ game for the titans. I still believe the titans and bucs tanked last year. Yes, they are bad teams, but not the worst 2 teams in the league. Winston looked like a rookie out there, but the titans helped him look like a rookie. We are running a similar but new scheme on d, with 6 new starters ( 5 if mccourty was a go). This d will only get better, barring injury. Mariota looked like a 5th year starter out there, the oline looked decent/good and our guys were playing hard. Yes it was the bucs, but we didn't just best them, we wooped the dog $*** outta them at home. This team is young, has tons of new players and is running half new systems on both sides of the ball. I think 7 wins is the floor for this team.

Okay, so it was the Bucs and we have room for improvement...

...but when was the last time our offense dominated anyone?? When was the last time we had a QB who could have turned in a performance similar to what MM did today? This was supposed to be a close game. No one, and I mean NO ONE, expected Mariota to perform as well as he did today. The guy was only 3 completions away from a perfect completion percentage.

I don't expect those results against better teams but I think he's been underrated and has enough talent to make us more competitive this season than anyone expected. He's the biggest piece of the puzzle and is, thankfully, already in place.

*I* think it's great because he blew everyone's expectations out of the water and he's just getting his feet wet. Call me an optimist.

What did you think about the Bucs pulling their starters in the last game, with the lead? Justifiable, or should they have kept their pride and at least tried to win? They would have still drafted Winston at #2.

    Honest question, no offense intended.
It seemed pretty sleazy to me.

No way the Titans go for another QB with off-field questions high in the draft. So they pulled that stunt (no media coverage on it) and ended up with the same player as if they'd kept their pride.

It's a slap in the face to the fans to blatantly try to lose a game.

Well, we didn't dominate KC but we played very well. Mariota's performance today smoked Locker's vs. KC.
