Mariota best start for a rookie debut

Just watched nfl inside. 8MM had the all time best first game QBR ever........Wait for it........ Winston had the worst. Oh snap!

 

The rest of the draft class balled out. Can't win them all.

 

The man had more touchdowns than incompletions and threw 16 passes.

When's the last time that's happened? Steve McNair 2003?

 

even his 3 incompletions werent bad, Sankey dropped 2 and the other was hit by a defender....

c'mon bravey. That first lob to Sankey was bad. But that was his only bad throw all day

 

Let's remember what mariota is seeing every day in practice. A dick Lebeau defense that winston struggled with immensely. It wasn't just because the bucs had a soft defense. mariota was more than prepared for that game. I love the fact that he has zero distractions off the field. I expect the defense to prepare mariota for the browns all week.

 

Well you know, Marcus is preparing the defense as well. He's not giving them anything in practice which is making them focus that much harder on what they do. Did they have two interceptions on him all training camp long? Don't think they didn't try each and every practice. It's made them sharper and better. I have to believe the defense was asking themselves, why couldn't we practice this kat (Winston)all preseason. We would have more interceptions!
