Why didnt we draft Hyde

Drafted Sankey and Huff over Hill or Hyde basically...worth it?

Good point about Sankey fitting better with Mariota than Hyde...but I'd still rather have Hill over Sankey

 

I don't see how Sankey fits better with Mariota than Hyde. Hyde played in an offense with Braxton Miller and JT Barrett at QB. Hyde is more than capable of playing in a spread system with a mobile QB.

 

Exactly. It's like saying Lacy wouldn't be good in GB etc...

 

And Hyde is being successful with Kaepernick at QB. Same type of QB as Miller...

 

Bingo....I mean, when you suck royally, you go for a play maker that is proven...Not a potential with good cuts. It staggering to me, because honestly, I can name off of the top of my head, 3-4 backs ahead of him, that were picked later....Thank the lord we did right with Mariota.

If we are going to dwell on something in hindsight, then... had we drafted Hyde or Hill, probably wouldn't have Mariota now.

Sankey will work well with Mariota, relatively speaking, because the other guys would be working with Mett on this team.

I know right, but the way the NFL works, Sankey could turn out to be the better back in the end. So far I wish we had Hyde. We just have to wait and see.

 

I am still behind him, because at the end of the day, he is a Titan, and I hope he crushes it. If our line gives him time and we continue building weapons, he will be fine i'm sure.

 

People need to stop with the Sankey hate. I saw the same thing with Griffin when he struggled. Now everbody supports him.


I wasn't a believer in Sankey after last year either, but he's been effective this season with actual holes to run through. Some people forgot how bad our line was, especially in the run game, last year.


Sankey is a 3 down back that is getting consistent yards and can be used in a lot of different situations. He showed last week he can be a goal line option too.


I understand everybody wants "the best" players at every position, but things don't work like that and show our guys some love.


Hell, even when we had the best player (CJ) he still got hate and dogged when he was no longer at a Pro Bowl level.



Sankey is doing his thing. We're 1-0. We got Mariota. Hindsight is 20-20
