Back in the day when he was first drafted in 2002 QB David Carr was not a bad choice for the Texans. However if i remember correctly Carr was sacked nearly 80 times his rookie year and as each year passed he got hit so much it pretty much ruined any chance of him becoming a solid QB.

The big reason for this was a less than stellar offensive line and he wasn't getting any protection. Before too long Carr was flinching at his own shadow and running from phantom defenders he was punch drunk from all the abuse and hits.

For the love of god i swear i will hate Webster and Whisenhunt forever if they don't get this under control and keep Mariota from being hit like he was Sunday. Mariota can't take that type of treatment week in and week out.

Ironically Lewan and Bell were bragging last week that their QB wasn't gonna be touching the ground but they didn't live up to that promise.

The team finally has a good QB after years of picking the wrong ones the last thing they need to do is neglect getting the line fixed after all its for the long term good of Mariota and the team.

They ignored a few spots on that line when they had a chance to improve, gonna learn the hard way you can't let your QB take hits over and over...

It's one thing for Mariota to take a hit running the ball, whole other animal when he's taking hits from the blindside or at a stand still....

    Priority #1 protect the QB

Locker never got hurt running. It was always in the pocket for the most part

Taking hits on the move is better than just being up right.... You'll get crushed if you take a lot of those kinds of hits

Locker got hurt walking after a play.

There is no protection for that (unless an Olineman carried him after every play).

We don't have a decent center. Whiz is already saying we have to get the line quicker so "they can figure out their assignments".

Translastion: Schwenke is neither the sharpest knife in the drawer nor is he decent at leading this unit.
