Mett for Jeffrey as the core elements of a trade is not unrealistic. I would even throw in a Hunter, Sankey (or any of our RBs) and a draft pick to get them both. Forte brings immediate value this year and even past 30 can still be a serviceable spell back.

The question is... do we risk losing a good back up QB? Honestly, I'd rather trade him form something valuable than keep on the bench "just in case". If (knock on wood) something happens to Mariota the season is over anyway. He's our future. Le'ts say Mett comes in and wins us a couple games, we're not winning the SB here. All that's good for is a lower draft pick.

Bears would not trade Alshon because he is a top notch young wr and they should t have cap problems. You don't trade arguably your best player for more cap space when your team stinks.

Forte they would trade but what is he worth? He's getting old and you're probably better off with a younger back because the odds are stacked against Forte playing at a high level AND being durable. RB's tend to have a pretty fast and dramatic drop off:(

I'd certainly take Forte, but I wouldn't trade anything for him....maybe a pack of gum!

This was my initial stance as well. However, with Jeffery being in a contract year I think it's at least a remote possibility. We don't know what's going on behind closed doors there. Jeffery may have already made it known he has no desire to resign there. Sure they could franchise him but sometimes it's better to just move on from a guy if he doesn't wanna be there.

You have to think, that as a young WR on a team with coach and quarterback issues, that this guy is going to jet at seasons end.

Lots of money to be made for a player of his caliber. Just look at what Julio, AJ, Thomas and Dez got this year.....Jeffrey isn't much, if at all, behind those guys. I am sure he is ready to hit free agency and go to a team that can reliably get him the ball *and* win.

The Bears know this as well.

If Alshon is seriously on the block, which is pure speculation at this point, I think we should try to do whatever it takes to get him. Within reason of course.

Id be gone so fast if I was him, Jay Cutler is going nowhere, and there are no NFL ready college QB's that they can move on to...

If youre QB needy you are screwed for the next 2 years... For a guy in his prime you cant wait 2 years to maybe get a QB who will then need 1-2 years to get you playoff ready..

Well if Alshon is in a contract year why don't we just wait until the offseason and throw a lot of money at him? We would have to sign him to a big deal anyway but this way we keep all of our draft picks and players
