This is fairly silly and arbitrary considering Luck has not been very good and Mariota has been better and he says it's only based on 2015. Of course, he gives the caveat that it's who HE would like to have as Qb for this season which in his mind must not make stats too important!

I can't really argue for him to be ranked ahead of any of the guys who are in front of him. Yeah, Luck has been average, but he's also getting killed. We've seen what he can do for three seasons.

Edit: except Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco is terrible.

Flacco ****ed the market up for everyone.

Mariota will get 150mil when he signs and probably 200mil on his last.

Brilliant idea to to rank a QB that has played less than a quarter of a season.

I feel he's ranked him too low. Wilson has been crap this year. And he's in the top 10? Cleveland aside, Marcus has been a lot better than a middle of the road qb.

Dalton is playing well now, Mariota will pass him though, Mariota should be ahead of Stafford/Flacco/Eli and Rivers imo

Joe Flacco does have the absolute worst contract situation at the moment, but this issue started before his deal in 2013..

In 2009 Philip Rivers and Jay Cutler struck big time deals that raised the bar significantly... Id blame those guys first, they set all this overpaying average QB's thing in motion..

QB's know there is a shortage at their position, teams have no choice but to pay these guys or face starting all over. Good QB's are rare to come across, once you have yourself a successful QB you have to hold on to them at all costs.

And if you dont have yourself one of those guys you should be cycling thru QB's every 2-years or so, not waiting around til their rookie deals run out like we did with Locker...

This is what makes Jay Cutler the worst QB in the league in my eyes, he hold his team hostage being just good enough... Andy Dalton may also be this way but he's young enough that he's worth keeping around to see if he turns the corner...

Wait, what was my original point - Oh, that he's on fire right now and has his weapons back.
Then everybody wheels out the tired old meme about the playoffs..
It's like a room full of parrots...
