Rumor Bears looking to trade Forte and Jeffery

Again we traded down to the 2nd rd for this guy who consistently shows promise in camp only to disappear in games...So you mean to tell me we waste time in camp running plays in which he is spectacular and has everyone talking about him only to not run plays for him in games? Not sure if can get on board with that. I hear exactly what you're saying but 30 something catches in 2 years and change for a receiver drafted in the 2nd round is not living up to expectations...it's nothing irrational about the hate on the guy...coaches are constantly trying to find ways to motivate him. Whiz has openly made comments about his inconsistency...we're not just making stuff up.

I'm saying that based on what other teams are doing defensively SO FAR THIS SEASON we can't make an accurate judgement. I'm not saying he's great or anything like that, I'm saying don't be too quick to make a judgment. Yes we traded up for him and yes he's been inconsistent, I'm not arguing against that, just that the people on this site are far to quick to label someone terrible or useless without actually looking at the whole picture.

The 30 catches in 2 seasons isn't to far outside the norm, especially when he missed half of one of them due to injury. He also had to learn a completely new offense both seasons, the second of which is a complicated one for WRs to learn, Wright mentioned last season that the WRs couldn't tell if they were improving at what Whis wanted or not because of it. I doubt any of you would argue against Wright being a good WR. All I'm trying to say is that it's too soon to say what Hunter will be in this offense and that there are counterpoints to every argument you guys keep using to say he's useless and will never be anything but terrible. You also need to factor in that most of the top WRs that take off immediately have a good QB throwing to them, Hunter hasn't had that until this season.

 

Agree to disagree....30 catches per year is more normal than 15...that's way below average...that equates to less than 1 catch a game. We played one of the worst teams defensively in Tampa in which EVERYONE got to feast except him. I can't make excuses for the guy. I'm ready for DGB to take all of his minutes. I will concede the QB point as it is a valid one but the man just doesn't seem hungry enough. I just feel the division is a possibility no matter what anyone says, esp now that Luck is playing hurt and may miss a couple of games, and if we have a shot at the division then I want the best players on the field every down.

 

fair enough, agree that we have a great chance to win the division. I had fun debating with you, but I do want to say I don't want any of our WRs getting too many minutes because of how that will negatively affect them over the course of a season. I really wish we'd move McCluster out to WR some just to take away some of the wear and tear off all our other guys by reducing their snaps a bit

I think the Bears will want way more than he is worth, I think a team that wants to win now will get him and we are not a team in a win now mode we're more built for the future.
