Dolphins Fire Philbin

From what I've seen to this point, it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all.

But, statistically speaking, Whiz is worst than Philbin.

However, Webster hasn't helped Whiz's case whatsoever. I wouldn't mind seeing both of them gone if we don't post up at least 6 wins.

 

I'm surprised that they would fire him this early in the season though ... at 1-3 its not like the season is completely over. And what does firing the coach this early accomplish anyway?

Unless they are trying to tank for a high draft pick, to go along with a new coach

 

Way too early to can the Whizinator IMO.

He had 1 bad season with a lame duck QB, and a year of transitions (plus, I don't believe he wasn't at least somewhat trying to tank)

Now he has a rookie QB that seems to be WAY ahead of the rookie curve. The team is a lot more competitive right now too. I think we definitely start to see some wins as MM and the team grow together a little more.

Plus, would you really want your rookie QB to have to go through this crap already? ... As long as MM is showing development, I say you have to stick with Whiz.

 

Dan Campbell is their interim HC. That guy isn't even 40. Stopped playing like five years ago. That's a pretty quick rise.

 

I just hope whoever the coach is is an offensive genius so tannehill does good in ff. Other than that, don't care.

 

I think this guys is another Whiz....great OCoordinator, terrible coach.

Albeit, he's won a lot more games than Whiz the last 3 seasons

 

I understand your argument, and I am not for firing a coach during the season. I believe that is something that should be done after the season is over.

However, based on what I've seen in terms of in-game adjustments, game planning, and game management, Whiz does not impress me at all.

He is known as the coach who gave up the biggest home lead in NFL History, and gave up the 4th quarter lead to a bad Colts team last week. If I do not see improvement in the win column at season's end, I will be all for going in a new direction in terms of both the GM and head coach.

I think we can all agree Mariota is a lock in terms of a future franchise QB, regardless of who the coach is.

 

I totally agree if you replace the word "great" with "decent."

 

what's the point of keeping continuity with your QB and head coach when said coach can't win more than 6 games per year? That's Whiz' ceiling.

Move on from the Whiz dumpster fire.

How many years has Whiz had a franchise QB like Mariota?

Obviously if the Titans don't win some games this year, I would probably lean towards moving on, but at the same time IMO we are watching a better team this year so far (only 3 games in). I really think we will see the wins start coming by the 2nd half of this year (hopefully sooner)
