520's Mariota Officially Out Sunday Thread

It's not hitting the QB I object to. It's hitting him when it's obvious he could have pulled up, hitting him low, and hitting him late that I have an issue with.

As a Titans fan you should too. He almost put your franchise QB out for the year during his rookie season when he needs every snap to learn/grow.

 

Well it's good thing the Mett-swingers have zero input on who starts for us on Sundays. Mariota is not losing his job to Mett, especially due to injury.

I'm rooting for Mett. And not because I have any delusions that we could sneak into the playoffs. But because it serves us well to have a solid backup QB. Until this OL gets fixed we're likely gonna need one for at least a few games per year. I don't even really care about Mett's trade value. Unless we were getting a 1st or a very good player for him I'd rather just keep him (assuming he looks good).

That's because he kind of was. Tore his ACL on that play. It was the fourth consecutive play he was sacked.

 

Don't worry guys, I just picked up Mett for my fantasy team. Guaranteed to get injured now. Picked him up last year and two days later JJ Watt body slammed him.

 

If you watch the replay, the ball had just come out of MMs hand, Vernon was coming off a move from the OL and was off balance, there's no way he could've pulled up.

This is why QBs and OL get hurt on rollups so often in the pocket, guys off balance and unable to stop.

I can't hate on Vernon, our DEs have done the same thing at least 4 times this year.

 

Well, I hope he enjoys the smell of the field. He may be doing the mermaid out of water routine again Sunday.

Mariota has one more win than Mett. That trend will not end this week.

 

It is now worth pointing out Mett is the only QB with any time under our new Center. Mariota didnt get a single rep with him in camp.... That may have factored into mett playing vs the injured Mariota..
