He's got his hands full enough, not sure why he won't relinquish the duties.

He should, cause our offense this year, has gotten worse and worse with every game. It's not all that uncommon for HC's who were DC's to relinquish that role, at some point as a HC...and vice versa for OC's who become HC's. Again, Jason Garret gave up playcalling duties, so he could focus on managing the team.

It's also rather odd that Wiz would have Jason Michael listed as the OC rather than Mularkey, when the former has no OC experience, IIRC...while Mularkey has a lot of OC experience. Their roles should be flipped, regardless. My guess is he wanted a YES man, rather than someone experienced who might clash with his philosophy, perhaps.

Wisenhunt should at least try it for a few games and see if the shakeup doesn't at least throw off opposing DC's, since they won't know Mularkey's tendencies like they do Wisenhunt's.

You run the ball 15 times. 10 with a guy averaging 5.7 yards per carry. I think McCluster averaged 4.

Struggling passing game, and you run the ball 15 times? While being able to run?

I just don't understand what he is doing. He is throwing the basics completely out the window. We need to be running the ball ATLEAST 20 times a game.

After watching the last four games, with the exception of the Dolphins game, the Titans have shown improvement over last season. Most of that comes from the defensive side of the football.

His play-calling yesterday was horrible, IMO. The Falcons are a top run defense yet we showed we could run the ball with Andrews. So why not continue to feed Andrews until he's no longer effective?

    1. Takes the pressure off putting the game on Mett and receivers who had already dropped two catches.

    2. Eats clock and keeps the ball out of the hands of Julio Jones.

Here's a breakdown of the run game yesterday:
Andrews bust a 17-yard carry then follows it up with a 1-yard gain on first down. Whiz goes pass, pass, punt.

Next series, Andrews gains 15 yards on first down then leaves the game. Pass, McC for 5, Pass, Punt.

Next series is McCluster who gets one carry for 3. Another three and out.

Next series: Andrews for 3 then 7. Andrews leaves the game. One McC run for 3 mixed in with a Warmack hold. On third and 17, Mett dumps down for six.

Next series: No Andrews. Two-minute hurry up which ends with the pick.

TOP the first half: Titans 5:53, Falcons 9:07.

Second half/first series: Andrews has a negative carry with a -1.

Second series: Andrews for 10 then out of the game. Warmack holds so 1st-and-20 which means pass, pass, pass, punt.

Next series: Andrews for 3. McC for 6. Third and one, Andrews never has a chance and loses a yard.

Next series: Andrews for 3 and a first down then out. Mett fumbles and it’s all passes. Titans don’t make it on 4th down. The next series is the INT. Game over.

TOP of the second half: Titans 6:16, Falcons 8:44.

Total for the game: 25:15 to 34:45. The Falcons held the football almost 10 minutes longer in this game.

Hats off to the Titans defense who played well. Last year, when the Titans were this far behind on time of possession, they'd be gassed and fold.

As for Whiz, his hands were tied on occasions where Warmack held and put the team in long distance situations. But he continuously pulled Andrews after big runs and not for just a down. He pretty much put his best weapon in this game on the sidelines.

Is it that Andrews can’t pick up blocking assignments or catch a pass? When he’s in the game, it’s very likely the Titans run. What I find amazing is that he was very effective in spite of that.

Yep, there was no reason to abandon the run yesterday as we were not getting blown out yesterday. Would have given Andrews the ball time after time until they proved they could stop him......especially seeing Mett was off target.

How often does a coach in trouble with a horrible record start giving up duties to others? If anything he micromanages more.

This is one of his weaknesses as a HC, he has to micro manage everything and tries to hard to out smart people.

    Outsmart people?

When you've lost your team the last thing you do is try to outsmart people. He needs to go back to the basics. He needs to balance his play book and keep a back in to block.
