    I just wonder if the next GM and Coach buys or will buy into Marcus in the way Webster and Whisenhunt did. The value of Marcus is in the eyes of the beholder. I ask this because I have seen a few of you hoping that a Manning group will opt to buy this team. I can tell you based on some of the things I have heard from Papa Manning that I think that is a bad thing for Marcus. I don't think they buy into spread qb's. But I'm just using them as an example. I hope whoever they bring in is on board on building this around him and doesn't set him up for failure.

    They have to. No one is going to go to a franchise this bad with this many problems and a rookie they are stuck with for a minimum of 3 years if they don't have faith they can make it work with Marcus. It would be waste of their time and by the time we moved on from Marcus they would be out of a job. Ownership on the other is a different story but i don't buy that the Mannings are buying this team.

    Without a QB you're not playing the same game as everyone else, getting Mariota was the single best thing this team has done since the original Titans marched into town...

    For once I agree. You have to start somewhere. The problem is that years of dreadful drafting and tolerance of underpar performance have left nothing around Mariota at all.

    What's the word on Mariota's return? We're not going to be competitive in ANY game with Mettenberger. Houston is a bad team and we couldn't make a good game out of it.

    I'm not even kidding a little bit when I say that we have a better chance with Whitehurst. If Mariota isn't ready to go next week, I'll be upset if we don't start CBJ, or at least put Mettenberger on a short leash with Whitehurst ready to go after the first pick or the first couple of 3 and outs.

    The defense continues to play solid and shows flashes of greatness, but if you can't even get a frickin' first down, it's all for naught.

    Unfortunately, what I see on the field right now looks like last year. That's a team full of players who have given up. Dexter McCluster is showing some fire, but everyone else seems to be going through the motions, and going through them very poorly.

    uuuuhhhhh Gayton was NEVER going to come to Tennessee... and in hind site he clearly made the right decision.

    And it would not so much have been 'passing on Mariota' as going a different direction. I have already admitted my desire to take Williams and see what 7 could do was wrong
