I don't think anyone is suggesting the Titans should sign zero free agents. That's crazy.

But that guy was saying they should be the most active team in free agency. That's equally crazy.

The proper way to do free agency, especially for teams that are in a complete rebuild (which the Titans most certainly are) is to plug some holes by looking for bargains. Not to go after the big names.

But I guarantee that when free agency approaches, there will be many people on this board clamoring for the Titans to throw money at the big names.

Let's all try to be smarter than that.

I think we can afford to go shopping tho, I dont see any soon to expire contracts we MUST extend. If you have no guys of your own you have to take care of why not go spending a little...?

This is exactly it. We have not a single person on offense that opposing defenses really have to worry about. Even Delanie, who is a very good player, is far from a game-changer. I was saying last night in the shoutbox, despite how poorly this roster has been constructed I think if we even had ONE legit playmaker (e.g. Julio, Hopkins, Alshon, Odell, etc.) this team would look TOTALLY different. I was hoping DGB could develop into that type of guy. And maybe he still will. But holy hell, dude appears lost beyond belief right now.

Last night on the way home for work, I was listening to the post game show with Mark Howard and Blaine. It was so funny, a guy called in and was questioning how in the hell Webster still has a job as GM of the Titans and Mark Howard started right off saying " Well like it or not, Ruston Webster will probably make it through all of this". The caller asked how and Mark goes "Well for one, he chose Mariota when Whisenhunt didn't want him". The caller just started laughing while he continued to try and make a case for Webster and finally cut the call off after the caller kept laughing at him.

    Good stuff.

DGB never looks for the ball. He seems to be thinking about the route he is running without any thought for anything else.

Defensively, I think we can call Casey and Orakpo as close as the Titans have to impact players. They seem to be making the players around them better even though there are consistency issues with many of them.

Offensively, those players don't exist. Mariota will hopefully become one with more experience. Walker is good but the Titans desperately need someone at WR who is going to force defenses to respect a downfield passing game.

I'd spend on depth, not on "stars."

I think someone said that this years draft is big on defense and there's like no offensive talent. Is that true or is there actually a playmaker we could realistically take atop the 1st round?
