I expect to have, at least, one difference-maker on offense who can make some big plays.

Your low third-down conversion % reflects the same thing. The Titans don't have the talent to keep the chains moving on long drives. Because they can't make big plays, they have games where they can't score TDs. There's no go-to WR on the roster.

This is a direct reflection of Webster's ability to bring in talent, or, in his case, lack thereof.

You mean aside from the go-to TE? Or the shifty Edelman/Welker type receiver (who was supposed to play off Britt skill set)?
Sure he missed on Hunter, but if he or Britt had worked out we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I swear it seems some of you want to go the way of the Lions and just draft big fast WRs with every 1st round pick...

Walker is solid. Orakpo is too. But you have a ton of very average to bust free agents Webster brought in.

    That's the point, isn't it?

I'll take a guy who can run routes and catch the football with some consistency.

Webster's misses as a GM shined bright Thursday night...an alarming offensive cast on the field. Just sad.

Webster wasn't in the organisation when we drafted Britt, so basically you want to fire him for drafting Hunter. And completely ignore that we've build a solid defense. You don't see the Patriots calling for the GM's head for drafting Dobson, even though his production is similar to Hunters.

I still maintain we're a good WR, a good DB and most importantly a good coaching staff away from competing.

I don't think anyone is denying coaching has been terrible.

But you cant properly evaluate talent when coaching is terrible. Good coaching can overcome bad players, good players can't overcome bad coaching (especially on offense).

You're really battling for him. What's the vested interest?

It's great you like him. He's prob a good man. But at what point do you start to expect this team to get better? He's been here for five years and offensively they are just bad. There is so much talent out there t hold on to him any longer. So many smart qualified player personal personal guys. Give someone a chance that is groomed and ready to take over this situation.

Really? So you can guarantee that whoever we bring in is going to be better than Webster? Are we even sure the Titans is an attractive place for the "smart qualified player personnel guys"?
But as I've said all along, the talent on this team is on par for the NFL, but our coaching has been atrocious. Fix the coaching and our team automatically improves. Why create an insecurity by bringing in a new GM, who could be worse than Webster. The coaches we brought in after Fisher were surely not an upgrade...

Who wouldn't want to make a leap to run their own team? Someone who has worked and put themselves in position for such a job? Who has waited patiently for that opportunity?

You and I disagree here. But I would loved to see Whisenhunts system with faster, better more athletic players (something this team lacks horribly) I feel he was more a victim of a poor player personal plan than being a bad coach.
