Michigan opens as favorites this wknd vs Blowhio.

    I called that around week 4, I believe. :)

Game is going to depend on who hits first though. Emotions/momentum will decide it.

    Clearly B1G media bias!

    Am I doing this right?

They're a really top heavy conference, not much a surprise. They beat up on everyone then face a fellow top team at the end of the year. That's not a diss, just how the cards played out this season for them.

Nope you need to try a little harder.

ESecPN and CBS push an SEC bias and it's pretty obvious. FOX appears to try and counter that as they are now pushing a Big12 angle.

It's not hard to see media companies trying to push their large investments. Is that really surprising to anyone?

It should be interesting as B1G's media contracts run out in 2016-2017 and it appears FOX is prepared to dwarf the $100M contract the B1G currently has. B1G has more than just football going for them, their basketball games bring in more money than the other conferences.

I wouldn't be too confident in that. The TV money bubble is about to pop. ESPN is cutting costs left and right because of the crazy amount money they've thrown at the NFL, NBA, and college football. It would be borderline stupid for FOX to make the same mistake.

Yes but we're talking about Murdoch here, he's got the means to throw the money. Outside the NFL, FOX hasn't thrown the ridiculous amounts of money around like ESPN has. Wasn't it like $7.5 billion for the college football playoffs?

FOX has been pushing hard to upend ESPN as the go-to media outlet for sports and with ESPN cutting costs and scaling back, this is their time to do it.

10/14 SEC schools with a winning record.

    7/14 for the Big 10.

    Please, go on.

CBS and ESPN push the SEC because of ratings, and they spent the money on the rights so why not use it? Ratings = money. It's not that hard to figure out. Is it bias in that respect? Sure. Do I think they actually have an impact in the rankings? No. They're not voting. They show and talk about the SEC more because it's the most popular conference and they know they'll draw viewers in.

If the Big 10 was bringing in a higher interest, they would talk about them more and not be the 11 am kickoff every Saturday. The Big 10 has their top schools of course, but no one is tuning into Maryland vs Northwestern. Even the bottom SEC schools generate some interest.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think that has an impact on rankings especially the Ap poll.

The top B1G teams still bring in the best ratings. Osu vs Msu had better ratings than any primetime games this year and it was at 2:30
