Yeah man it'll be like Christmas happens twice... I'm going to go nuts the second I hear Webster is fired, and then also when the entire coaching staff is let go. And then when Griffin is escorted off the property. There's my Christmas list right there.

No way Webster should be here.

Then again, what else is he going to say when asked if he is planning to be here.

"Hell, no. Honestly, I'm checking email a lot. Updating my Facebook status. Reading quite a bit of Pintrest."

I have no illusionsthat it will happen but I really wish we could get Bill Parcells in as VF of FB Ops. and GM.

This is perfect setup for a quick sale. Underwood under "interim" contract (if any contract at all). No guaranteed date. GM dead man walking gone at season end. No HC. Marquee/franchise QB in year two. #1 Draft pick 2016. I'm just betting this was the ONLY way that Strunk et al could maximize the value of the franchise which was allowed to die on the vine during Bud's last years.

I'm certain they are entertaining all reasonable offers despite what they say. NO owner is so completely inept as to position a rebuild as they currently have unless they are wanting to cash out and hand over a franchise perfectly groomed for a new owner to completely build without strings attached.

At this point though, why would it be a secret? I'm not an expert but even a quick sale is going to take a few weeks/ months to go through. I mean before the superbowl coaches will be off the market. A new owner can't just start the Monday after week 17 and start hiring people when in week 14 the owner is still saying the team isn't for sale. At some point we need to think the team isn't for sale and the owners are trying to pick up the pieces of Tommy smith ruining things the last 2 years.

If they fire Ruston, bring in a gm. Who brings in a coach, and say underwood will remain in place for the time being, they can still look for his replacement behind the scenes, and let the new coach/gm do their thing.

Your not going to hire a coach and gm then 3 months later Hire a president. You can however establish a gm and coach, and 2 years down the road hire a president who will then take a year and make his observations and take over the reigns.

At this point if the team is miraculously sold as soon as the seasons end I see it being more of a mess, with all the replacements that are going to take place.

Not if the new owner has a lineup (Pres and/or GM already secured). The NFL won't delay a sale from a potential owner who has already been vetted.

I just can't imagine any sane person who would absolutely decimate a franchise's management structure and personnel unless there was a benefit to doing so.

Underwood was pulled out of retirement for Pete's sake. He could have been replaced permanently last season. But he wasn't. Why? Webster should have been fired with Whiz and an interim GM named. But wasn't. Why? What is the benefit of that? The only rational answer is "quick sale".

Well, I mean, the owner died 2 years ago without really transitioning anything. They on the spot threw Tommy smith out there, and then realized it was a mistake, so they changed that. I think Whis was fired for public relations reasons as much as football reasons. They had to do something, he was the easiest target. I dont think they said lets just decimate everything. I think they were unprepared to take over the franchise, and their initial plan failed so now they are making up for it. I think the disorder is a result of that moreso than a concerted effort to set the franchise up for a sale.

Not sure why there wasn't a better plan in place as Buds health had a steady demise But what you're suggesting is much less probable from a business standpoint IMO.
