I did read it. Check out this story from 2008 where the Giants complain about Coughlin being too tough. The point is these modern day players need tough coaches to push them to excellence. Whining about how tough the coaches are in practice is for losers.

I read the story. It sounds like the old Giants complaints to me.

Coughlin also learned to lighten up. Oh, and he was actually a good coach who knew what it was doing.

Plus it was not just practice, that offense wore guys down.

Not sure where you all think I would gain to make this up. Directly from Chip's mouth he wanted full control and the Eagles were not on board with that. Keep in mind that is only one side of the story.

I will update if I get any more info regardless of how you all take it, but as of now I am confident he will not coach college and will not take any time off, dude is not wired like that.

And regarding the Lane Johnson comments: guy comes off as the softest POS in Philly.

Brandon Graham said it best. Coaching styles typically don't translate well from the NCAA to NFL initially because you have to adjust to interacting with grown men who's salary may be higher than yours. Getting them to buy in at broke and 18-22 vs 22-35 with money in their pockets can be two different animals. I think Chip struggled with that but have faith he will figure it out at his next stop.

Where were these same complaints from when he was at Oregon? Could it be one locker room bought in while the other was malcontent? Coughlin and Jimmy Johnson dealt with same crap initially but they stayed the course until they became champs.

Coughlin could be a good comparison but Belichick is more of a players coach. Something that sounds like it couldn't be further from the truth for Chip.

I just wonder if he was as hardcore in his first two years as he was in his third. Thinking maybe player personal decision making got to him.

Are you suggesting Kelly won't accept not being GM here?

I think if he can get full control in Miami or Cleveland he will take those jobs. If all things equal, he'll come here. But that is not based on anything other than opinion.
