That's the film spec. Most modern stuff is 35mm prints of digital or 35mm filmed movies. Quentin always hires Robert Richardson who is possibly Hollywood's most coveted cinematographer.
Ultimately this all adds up to a huge, crisp looking film..

Got early copies of Revenant, Concussion, Hateful Eight.

Thought Concussion was boring, Will Smith did all he could, though I think he's chosen some pretty bad stories lately, and passing up Independence Day 2, doesn't make sense to me.

Revenant was less than just OKAY. 2 Scenes are worth the price of admission, the rest of the movie is watching Leo crawl around, not worth seeing in Theatre's IMO.

Hateful Eight was decent, great characters, decent story, not much else going on, but will keep you entertained.

Okay, my turn on SW TFA

Good, not great; a nostalgia feeder and a decent setup film (unlike TPM). But a THIRD Death Star?..Really?..

As Deuce said, thank god for Rey! She is a great character that you actually root for as a hero. I speculate that she IS Luke's daughter and was abandoned on Jakku for the same reason that Luke was parked on Tatooine: if the Force flows through all living things then Force-sensitive people won't be affected by it on a dead desert planet. Quite the opposite in Yoda's old stomping grounds on Degobah, which was like a Force factory.) Suddenly becoming a Force wielder isnt so far fetched after grabbing Luke's light saber on a lush foresty planet. That she commanded respect from Kylo rather than just going through a lame Good vs Evil dialogue with him was a nice plus. Now if she IS Luke's daughter then that means that the meme is right: SW is thr story of one family effing up the galaxy with their drama.
Not surprised at the idea of Ford asking to have Solo bite it; he's never been a fan of this franchise anyway.
There's no possible way it could live up to it's hype; the SW universe is a repeating pattern of very simple stories of the struggle between light and dark...it's not complex at all; it is what it is and nothing more. All the proper elements were contained in Ep 4, and they are here in Ep 7 as well even though it mostly just references 4.
I have been a bit annoyed at the attempts by some of my friends to try to imprint their nostalgia on their children. That's not gonna work. Modern movies and games have much better stories, dialogue and special effects than the entire SW franchise; children will never, ever experience it like we did in 1977.
Again, good....not great. Interesting and fun at being what it is.

yeah, that DeathPlanet thing was pretty stupid.

Dagobah was a force planet but it was full of Dark Side, Yoda used it to hide.

I hope Rey isn't a Skywalker. But the theory is solid.

Apparently the guy who plays Chewy is the only reason why Ford came back.

Hopefully they now branch out to their own story and not follow the OT steps.

Upon further review, I am with you in hoping she's not his daughter because that would play into the awful idea that the Force is genetic and based on midiclorians. She believed in the Force more strongly than young Luke did. Though I think mondwiing is a cheap plot device, I like the theory that maybe she was a padawan who was mindwiped and dumped on a Force-less desert planet to keep her safe from Kylo's rebellion.

I'm hoping she's a former padawan that was hidden from Kylo's rebellion... that she's the daughter of Luke's friend Wedge Antilles...
