Eagles Fire Chip Kelly

Just a neat little read in support of Chip. Bill Belichick defends Chip Kelly, says a lot of ex-Eagles not 'doing too much'

 

Mike Tomlin and the Steelers changed their scheme this year based on injuries and who was on the field. Hue Jackson changed the scheme in Cincy. Rex Ryan changed his scheme. Chuck Pagano changed his scheme. Should I keep going? NFL coaches change their schemes based on personnel. Chip Kelly's can't do that.

Yes his defense has gotten worse. Most yards per game allowed since he arrived and 2nd most points. His defense was worse than 2014. So by defintion it is getting worse.

 

bill wants Kelly as a coach so it's one less team in the NFL he had to worry bout being good enough to win super bowls.

 

I'm pretty sure he has nothing to worry about. He's Bill Belichick after all.

 

The thing that makes no sesne is sure Kelly needed time to purge that roster, but he gets rid of McCoy for Murray then asks Murray (North South runner) to become what McCoy was? Its stupid as hell and if Belichick wasn't buddies with Kelly he'd have nothing kind to say..

 

I haven't quiet decided my stance on Kelly just yet. Just an interesting read. There are reports Kelly doesn't want GM controls in his next stop so that makes him a bit more intriguing to me. I can see where any GM would want the leagues leading rusher to join their football team. Especially if you can steal him for a rival. But Chip still should have used his running style to his advantage and not making him a sideline to sideline guy.

 

anyone who knows anything knows you DONT pay a guy coming off a 390+ carry season, you just dont do it. Time after time GM's have been burned by repaying a guy for what he did LAST year.

So not only is he a terrible GM but also an awful scout. Watching Murray last year theres not a chance in hell I'd offer him anything close to what Kelly gave him to join the Eagles.. The writing was on the wall and he ignored it..

 

All the talk about Chip Kelly not being able to change his offense doesn't know much about Chip Kelly. When he was at NH as an OC, one season he ran a wide open zone read spread, and had the top rated offense in his conference. But he lost virtually all of his top skill plays and didn't have the personnel to run the same offense. He did have good TE and FBs. So he retooled the entire offense to a power running game. The next year he again led his conference in offense. Chip can adjust and run different offenses. From week to week at Oregon, the offense had different twists and looks. The guy is innovative and he is not tied to any one offensive system. Those who say otherwise simply have not done their home work. The one coach I would definitely want after he got fired from a job and everyone was calling him a failure would be Chip Kelly.

I am not sure I want him running personnel decisions, simply be cause that does not work very often in the NFL--good news is he says he doesn't want that control anymore. But I think I am on board with Chip as our new HC. If we go another route, say Hue Jackson, great. But I won't ***** and moan if Chip is our new head coach.

 

OC Id be able to get over, but that man is not a HC
