It seems to me that we might be in great shape to trade back even whether we get the first or second pick. It looks like Dallas and San Fran will be looking for a QB and will be picking at 4-5 respectively. If we are at 2 and if there are two QBs that people really like, we could get one of those teams wanting to get in front of the other to get the QB the browns do not take. If we are 1, that just opens up the options for us. We could have three teams wanting there man at #1.

The more I think about it the more I like a trade back to the 4-5 spot. We would get at least an extra 2nd and a 1st for next year. With a first and 2 seconds, we could fill some significant holes.

    Thoughts?

I think Jerry tries to go for broke and win one with Romo while he can. He will put off trying to find the future QB for as long as he can.

San Fran is really the only other team besides Cleveland in the top ten that needs a QB. For them to trade up they would need to absolutely fall in love with one of the QBs and think the second one is trash.

Yea we all want a trade back that would justify whatever idiot we do pick while still allowing us to make up for it with extra picks...

SF has a lot of ammo this draft, and it is worth noting Webster has done business with SF on draft day before...

You could be right about Jerry Jones . . . but he might be convinced it is time to take the QB of the future. If he falls in love with one, and he will certainly look, we could be in good shape. But if he simply sticks with Romo, then we need San Fran to really love one guy over the other . . . as already noted.

Cowboys have 0 reason to trade up for a #1. They don't need someone who can start now, rather someone they can groom for the job in 3 years.

San Fran is more likely. Maybe Eagles. Rams. Browns (if they think someone else will trade up). Saints if Brees is out.

I really wanna stay in the top 5 picks so I'm not really sure if I want anything to happen.

A trade with the Browns or the 49ers is what I would want. Don't want to move down farther than that. Or Cowboys if they are interested . . .

If Webster is the GM for this draft than no we don't trade back. He just doesn't do that.

If we have a new GM, our chances increase substantially. Give us a Rams deal so we can get a lot of help. Lord knows this team needs it.
