The Mett hate on this site is pathetic

I believe we have an agreement.

Metts official trade value. One (1) Diet Rite (w/ saccharin sugar substitute!). NO moon pie!

 

He's at lowes looking for a rope.

 

Here's my take on Mett.

1. He has bad mechanics, in terms of footwork and release point. He either panics too fast or waits too long to throw.

***That is a few things we all know. Bad oline and bad receiver play. He has a below average oline scheme, and WRS who don't run the best routes, hence the struggle to get open.

2. He has poor coaching. Let's face it, we have talent but bad coaching development. This is the difference between good teams and bad ones.

***Mett was a project coming out of LSU. He had a big arm and a big name college on his resume. There was a reason he went in the 6th round though.. I'm not surprised at how bad he has been. He has lost his confidence big time and doesn't know what to do.

3. He is still immature in some ways.

***His ego or pride is something that would hurt his development in my opinion. He mouths off to JJ Watt who has owned him. The focus isn't there. He should be studying or training harder than anybody. He isn't though. That's a weakness on the team in general as well.


Until we get a new coaching staff, the players won't matter. Mett can be solid under a better team. But we have to wait til the offseason to see how that goes.

 

Mett was a sixth round pick we rolled the dice on. It did not work out, time to move on.

 

I was so excited when we got our hands on him last year. I thought he should've been our starter after Locker for hurt. I thought when he did start he got dealt a bad hand. I thought we could win with him. I thought during the draft we should've drafted Leo or Cooper and start Matt. I thought Mario would be decent but not great. I thought we could some how flip him for a 3, or 4 round pick. Now I can say I was wrong. Wrong wrong Wrong wrong Wrong..... I would rather have Neil ODonell back... I guess that's why I work in production and not an NFL GM

 

Not hating on Mett, but he was bad today. It cannot be defended. He had a another BAD day. On a positive note Tanney played great for just coming off the bench. Hell he should of been the back up QB this year. Looked better in his time on the field than Mett has all year.

 

Mettenberger proved in his limited starting opportunities that he not only isn't franchise QB material, but he's a horrible backup. If he has to play, you can put safe money on the team losing. Got outplayed by Tanney, big time.

Time to cut Mett, right now. We couldn't trade him to an Arena League team. His play for the Titans proves conclusively that LSU could have played for a National Championship if they had a solid QB playing for them...Mettenberger held them back. They had NFL talent across the board, except at QB. A problem that plagues them to this day.
