    I c
I can't see Lewan making a successful shift to RT.... if oher can beat him out.... somethings wrong.....

So in essence, Wed be wasting a #1 on another LT when the hole remains at RT....

How did Oher beat Lewan out? I'm pretty sure Lewan could hold it down at RT.

Regardless, trading down is our best option.

I'd rather spend a little cap space, rather than sitting on it, and bringing in Alshon Jeffrey, instead. I wouldn't be against taking Treadwell, under the circumstances you mentioned, but the trading partners we'd be looking at would be 4, 5, and 15. Tunsil is probably still there with the first two, but at 15, who knows? I'm thinking we'd take Ohio State Taylor Decker, there. At 6'8" I think he could handle JJ Watt pretty well with that long reach and TE-like athleticism.

It wasn't a matter of him not being able to beat Oher. The Titans planned to bring Lewan along slowly. They didn't think they NEEDED him last year, but picked him to be the future LT. They shot themselves in the foot with that pick. Roos would have played another year or two at least. Them drafting Lewan was a pretty big insult to him..."we want you to play for us some more, but we already got your replacement here....would you mind moving over to RT, even though you've played LT at a high level for several years now?"

They should have taken David Carr or Bridgewater...even if they couldn't trade back. They needed a QB and already knew Locker wasn't to be able to stay healthy and wasn't going to be their franchise QB. That was the bigger need. Taking an OT in the 2nd Rd would have made more sense, and would not have threatened Roos like the Lewan pick did.

Overall, I'm glad we got Mariota. I like him much better than Carr or Bridgewater, but Webster passing on those two set the team back at least another year, if not more.

    That's not how it happened.

Roos didn't quit because we picked Lewan.

His body quite literally quit on him last year. He would not be playing this year regardless of who we had at that spot. The short time he played, he was getting smoked by the speed rush. He couldn't keep up.

He was beyond ready to be done playing football. Dude is like 160 pounds now.

The Titans said they wanted him back, but they also wanted him to move over to RT. Roos didn't say his body gave out. He said he was retiring because he was tired of the grind and didn't care to do it anymore. It was a bit insulting to bring in a 1st Rd'er at his position and ask him, the veteran to move over to the right side.

Any player can lose considerable weight once they stop working out

    I'll just leave this here.

Joey Bosa's dominance is unmatched in college football

Joey Bosa, Jared Goff go 1-2 in first 2016 Mock Draft

"We don’t know what defensive scheme Tennessee will be using next season, due to impending turnover on the Titans’ coaching staff, but it doesn’t matter with Bosa. He is the draft’s most disruptive player after leading the nation in pass-rushing grade each of the last two years (+56.6, +45.2) and leading the way against the run this year as well (+26.0). The Titans got their franchise QB in Marcus Mariota in last year’s draft; this year, they get a future cornerstone on defense."

I'm totally cool with that.....IF we addressed OT in FA (Seattle's Russell Okung). We could swap places with Cleveland in return for Thomas (although, because of his age, he'd only be a one or two year solution...I'd ask for a 3rd Rd pick to go with it), so they can lock down the option to draft their guy at QB.

Some would scoff and say that Cleveland knows we won't take a QB. Of course we won't. What they would trade up for is to ensure we don't trade the spot ahead of them to someone else, wanting their guy (Dallas, SF, Eagles or the Rams).

Why taking Joe Thomas in such a trade might make most sense, is because it could give us another year to see if Poutasi can develop into a franchise RT, and if not, then we can try to address that position, long term, next year in the draft or FA
