Too bad about Sean Payton. I would be quite interested in josh mcdaniels.

Hopefully the Titans see a fit there as well. Josh mcdaniels has been a large part of the success in New England for a long time.

Jon Robinson as GM, Josh McDaniels as head coach? I could see our big wigs going for some Patriot connected guys. They do both come from a winning franchise. That would be a much welcomed addition. Can't say I'd hate that. McDaniels' offenses do speak for themselves and with a QB like Marcus he could have a lot to work with. He's got experience as an OC and a head coach which definitely proves he's not exactly a lightweight scrub coach.

All the pieces are starting to come together. Interviewing Jon Robinson (who will take the job IMO). And now it comes out from from a reliable source that McDaniels (who would prob be Robinsons top guy due to NE connections) is interested in the job.

But for the questions regarding future ownership, this job likely would be No. 1 on the list. The Titans have a good-looking young quarterback in Marcus Mariota, a defense that finished 12th in yards allowed and the top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and they compete in a division (the AFC South) that's rarely top-heavy. Also, the media environment is friendly and patient.

    PROS:
» Young quarterback with significant upside.
    » Solid defensive core.
» Manageable media and fan base.
    » Winnable division each year.

    CONS:
» Franchise that could be sold.
» A void at the GM level.
» Ownership seems reluctant to spend to the cap

I'm still all in on Kelly, rather than rolling the dice on coordinators with either no HC experience or failed HC'ing gigs (overall losing record). Kelly has the best record in terms of winning percentage and by far the best fit for Mariota and the defense (He's a 3/4 guy, so he'd likely keep LeBeau and Horton).

The thing that clinches it for me is this....IF Mariota had slid in the 1st Rd (of the 2015 draft) to Kelly...would he still be in Philly? Yes, most definitely, he would. Why? Because his offense would have been clicking with Mariota running the show, and you know it.

With that being the case...WHY IN THE WORLD DO WE NOT WANT THAT KIND OF SUCCESS HERE?! It's a matter of using COMMON DAMN SENSE, folks. Something that is apparently lacking in much of this fanbase. As evidenced by the fact that much of the same Kelly haters, here, thought Mettenberger was a franchise QB and should have gotten another shot...this time last year...and all the way up to the draft

They were wrong then, and regarding Kelly, they are wrong now.

I was for Kelly at first but I've back tracked from that. It's not as simple as just the Mariota connection will make Kelly a great coach. There are too many glaring red flags that you just don't want to see when considering a long term solution. His offense regressed each year. It's terrifying to hear the words predictable and stale describe his offense before he got fired. He was unwilling to play to the strength of his roster. I don't think he deserves to be an nfl coach next year. Not right away with the disaster he left in Philly.
