There isn't anything to analyze.

Professional sports didn't exist in the rural south for a majority of the 1900's.

Fans automatically gravitated towards the universities. There wasn't any other show in town.


Apparently my list was wrong though.

The NHL apparently has the wealthiest and smartest fans.

One can't help but look at the demographics of hockey fans though...

 

Oh there is plenty to analyse when we discuss why groups of people act the way that they do.. more than plenty.

This goes deeper than sports, btw. Sports teams are just the catalysts by which these behaviors manifest themselves.

I love the south, I'd never live anywhere else. Give me a weekend in New Orleans, Nashville or Charleston over cruising the French coast.

Most cfb t-shirt fans have a low football IQ and seem to come from the lower end of the economic ladder.

At least, that is my experience in my travels around the SEC. The is more Vawls gear in the trailer park than Titans.

There are more backwoods, dirt road little girls named Peyton than there are on the westside of Nashville.
