Yeah I have my doubts about him at the next level to be honest. Head to draft breakdown and watch his game vs Ole Miss, it was the 3rd game of the season. I know it's just one game, but he's pretty unspectacular for 85% of the game. I fear that's what he'll look like in the pros. Zeke in the 2nd (if he's there, but I doubt it) or a short term FA RB solution til next years stacked draft class.

It's not as simple as you're making it sound, Bama was trying to just hit Clemson's players to the ground most of the night, makes it easier to look like you're making things happen when they do that, and you're assessment is a bit off because there have been maybe 2 or 3 backs in the history of the game that can make something out there not being a hole to run through anywhere to begin with because one side of the line is routinely getting beat badly, which was the case tonight with the right side of the line

So, if he can't make something out of nothing, why should we invest a lot in him?

Last night Dom Jackson, Bama's RT couldn't block the D end to save his life and Henry was getting blasted before he could even look up to find a hole. I have no idea why Kiffin kept calling runs to that side. He still averaged 4.3 yds per carry which isn't shabby when the defense was daring Bama to throw.

Who the hell averages 4.3 YPC with a 50-yard run thrown in the mix? He's tall Chris Johnson.

Even Herbie said the same exact thing I've been saying for five months about Henry; get penetration and make him change direction because he doesn't have the lateral quickness to hurt you consistently.

i thought the same comparison, it's just boom or bust with him.. 1 big run followed by 7, 2-4 yarders

I find it funny that people use one or two games as "proof"... I'm going to look at his entire body of work, which like it or not is pretty damn impressive. BTW 36, 158 and 3 td's all the while being consistently hit in the backfield.... SMH laughing and walk away.

you know what you do when the defense is getting inside penetration? You call bootlegs and waggles and get your QB rolling out and moving the pocket, once that happens defenses themselves get lateral and not downhill. Then when theyre on their heels you run Derrick Henry down their throats.

Its a winning plan adding him into the mix if we can. He brings a unique sill-set you dont get very often.

Teamed with Mariota , that could be something scary for opponents and a lot of big plays waiting to happen. Just hope we get some decent blocking upfront.

If we get the right guy in at GM that stands a chance of happening.
