Andrus peat is trash and joe Thomas is over thirty. Not the best examples.

Honestly I'm not sure this is the case. Another poster a while back had a very interesting article posted about how we went from a Great to Mediocre OL. The gist of it was that we have some players with some level of skill, each having their own problems albeit footwork, technique, strength, size, etc. In any case, one of the more interesting parts of the article said we have guys that are strong in a specific area but none of the guys are strong in the same area. In fact the article used the term polar opposites. So to their point, the problem with our OL is a combination of coaching and personnel. We invested multiple draft picks (2 top 10) but no one has the same strength. As long as that's the case, our OL will struggle to develop an identity.

In any case, I thought that was an interesting perspective. One that made me think more about the problems haunting our OL.

Definitely need some experienced OL players and at least one with a voice who can motivate and bring control to the line.

I think our problems started when we started trying to pump first round pick offensive linemen into the mix (coupled with a few poorly orchestrated FA deals)

If you note.... Michael Roos was drafted in the 2nd round -- Big Country in the 4th ...... You don't have to buy in to the "PICK HIGH...." (which with some selections we've made in the past, kind of makes you wonder if our WAR ROOM does just that... lol) pulse flooding many mock drafts. Quality talent at the OL can be found just as good in secondary level rounds if not better than that of a pre draft hype TOP 5 T. You just have to know how to spot it. (very unlike that of horrible calling upon Pot.)

This...We just need talent evaluators that are not complete idiots, who can fish out starters in the late rounds. RW was said idiot so hopefully this changes.

Wow. I couldn't agree with this more. I really do feel like we should use high first round draft picks on impact players only. It doesn't matter to me what side of the ball they play on. I could even get on board with CBs as well especially those that comes with the added bonus of special teams returners.

I think this is one of the reasons we lost the identity of the team from its Glory Years. Not saying other players aren't important, but I do think you have a higher chance of drafting and developing those players in later rounds than you do most impact players and players at skill positions.

This is why I am so adamant that we need to trade off that number 1 pick....

    We can easily get someone else's 2016 1st, 2016 2nd, and 2017 1st, easily.
That gives us 3 good picks this year with their 1st, their 2nd, and our 2nd. If we hire a good GM we can get a 4th really good pick this year in the 3rd with proper scouting and evaluation.

Then we have 2 first round picks next season where we can trade one of those for additional picks and keep the cycle going.
