Is this the guy from Union City,Tn? That's pretty close to my area and I have family there and the same county.

Glad to see a new name get a shot at the GM spot instead of bringing in some guy that's been fired from GM jobs 4 times

Yeah this is true...but my logic is that if Chip gets another opportunity so soon does he really learn from his mistakes. The hope here is that at least Josh have had some time to really reflect on what went wrong in Denver whereas Chip still thinks he did everything right more than likely :-(

Im only guessing, but I assume that just means Amy or Underwood want final say in draft picks, thats how Bud was and how many owners are.

I don't think Hue Jackson would have been a great fit for Mariota. He has had most of his success with guys who love to throw the deep ball...Flacco and Palmer. Jackson also made it known that he wanted some control of personnel moves. So I am not upset by the fact that we didn't ask him for an interview.

Titans fans when we didn't fire Webster 1 hour after the season ended:

"OMG Webster is staying, I knew it"

    Then when we fire webster:

"OMG they are just gonna promote in house, I know it"

Then when we start interviewing several legit candidates:

"OMG This is just for show, they are gonna promote from within, I know it"

Then when it appears we are about to hire the someone that was widely viewed as a top GM candidate (and one that a lot of people wanted ):

"They only hired him cause he will keep mularky "

So far all the right moves are being made ... just chill everyone.

Also, there is good reason NOT to burn bridges with Mularkey.

Say we have a couple coaches in mind that we want, but the plans fall through and we don't get any of them, would you rather

    a) settle for someone you didn't really want and be tied to them for a couple of years minimum?

    b) Keep Mularkey for 1 year, and go out and try to get a top coach next year.

If we don't get a top candidate as HC this year, it is very smart to retain Mularky. He will be an easy fire without looking too bad, and would be better for the long run rather than hiring a sub part coach just for a change

I don't have anything against Kelley perse but I'm not a fan of his constant up tempo system. It compromises the intensity (due to fatigue) of the defense. It works OK in college because you aren't limited with a roster of 46 and can "spell" guys better.

Seems like every game a shootout with last team with the ball standing. Correct if wrong- I really don't know that much about it but just my impression.

Not if he has already agreed to keep Mularkey if hired as GM.

I'm not sure LeBeau or Horton would want to be the DC under Kelly. His style does make it hard for defenses.. both his and the other team's.
