And it will but Mularkey is just never going to be a great head coach that takes us anywhere but mediocrity. We know what we have in Mularkey and that's a good guy with a low ceiling. It's time to stop playing buddy buddy and make the right call not employ your bros cause he's a nice guy you can drink a beer with.

This is exactly why I wanted Ballard he's brutally honest and would never have even have Mularkey a second thought. Hopefully Robinson isn't a puppet.

lol. If we hire mularkey mariotas gonna be looked at as a cutleresque coach killer. Whiz, mularkey, malarkeys' interim, then the new HC next year.

Ballard proabably wanted some KC guy as HC and TItans didn't want that.

Robinson probably wanted McD as HC, and TItans think that will be better for Mariota.

    Its all about Mariota

Who knows Ballard may not have wanted Mcdaniels as coach either. May have wanted someone he has worked with. Nobody outside the organization and GM candidates know. But I am so glad we did not hire from within. Robinson is well liked and respected.

It sure looks like McD or Mularkey, it better be McDaniels or attendance will plummet. The titans totally quit on mularkey in the jets and texan games, he beat the jags and a bad saints team, went 2-7 and how is that a good job?

How he is even being considered shows why this has become one of the worst run organizations in the nfl.

This situation is IDENTICAL to what just happened in our search for GM.

How did the GM search go down ... Titans had a person in mind that they were waiting to interview (Ravens guy). They did some interviews with people that really didn't have a chance while waiting for a reply (including internal people). As soon as he turned down the interview, we started interviewing the real candidates (Robinson/Ballard). All the while the local media said that Beddingfield was gonna be the guy. However, in the end, they were all wrong, and we hired from outside.

Its exactly what is going on now ... Titans waiting to interview McD. They will do some interviews with people that don't really stand a chance while waiting. Once we get the chance to interview McD, we will see where the FO REALLY stands on the HC search.

@PaulKuharskyNFL: .@NFLSTROUD tells @Midday180 Robinson will/can work with anybody. Thinks power over 53 could out-rate coach. Emphasis on could. #Titans

    On Midday 180:

They talked with some dude named Rick Strout wh0 worked with Robinson.

-Said he was a math guy, but a football guy first. Expect some use of analytics. Not moneyball, but will look for every edge. (Laughs) He worked with the Pats, after all.

-Said he comes off as a quiet, serious guy. But has a good personality.

-You can get caught up in that he had a no lose decision between Winston and Mariota. But he found a LT after the first who started 16 games, and a RG in the later rounds from D3 who looks like he is going to be a star.
