I really don't understand this hiring. The Eagles just fired Andy Reid, why would they hire his protege?

It almost looks like them "admitting a mistake", which I find odd.

Reid is a great coach, getting his understudy is a good thing

Pederson was waiting for Ballard to get GM here and was planning on interviewing for HC in TN. When that didn't happen he accepted the Philly job

League sources are saying the Eagles are set to hire Doug Pederson. Pederson is currently the OC for the Chiefs and are still in the playoffs. It is my understanding, that coaches cannot be interviewed while they are still in the playoffs and not on a bye week. The Chiefs played last weekend, did Pederson interview with the Eagles before the Texans game? This week, before the Patriots game? Or did he not interview at all? Assuming the Eagles know Pederson very well from his playing and coaching days, could they just hire him without an interview? I know that nothing can be made official until the Chiefs are eliminated but Pederson is their new coach. Could the Titans do the same with McDaniel? GM Jon Robinson knows McDaniel very well and is most likely his top priority. Titans management could change the culture of this franchise and let Robinson make this call. Currently, the Titans have the only HC opening. I guess there is no hurry....unless Detroit decides to fire Caldwell.

It's possible I guess. Something tells me Strunk and Underwood would want to get a feel for McDaniels too.

Honestly we don't even know what Robinson and McDaniels relationship is like. Just because you worked together doesn't make you friends or mean you think highly of that person.

I wish I could answer your question but i have no idea. I just wanted to drop by and say I love your username. Go Titans, go Buckeyes.

On the other topic, I wonder if McDaniels will try to interview at the first opportunity he can since he said he is interested. Or I wonder if even though he is interested he will make us wait until the Patriots are eliminated or win the SB.
