I'm sorry but I still don't buy it. If it was Mularkey from the beginning and that was the only condition for a GM, why didn't they hire him first. MM would be a slap in the face to loyal fans who have stood by this **** show of a franchise the last few years.

As PK posted on on Twitter, the number of fans who told him they'd drop their tickets if MM is retained is staggering. How can the front office not see this?? If this does happen, a lot of fans are about to abandon ship. And there's not a whole lot of us left anyways. They better tread lightly with this crap.

They did it this way so they can say they conducted a "search". Like it or not, Mularkey is the center of the Titans universe. Even the GM search revolved around him, which is mind boggling.

Not good when Rapoport is talking about the plans for his contract. I fear this thing is over.

If they hire Mularkey today, the entire search was a charade, BS and an insult to fans. They claimed to have this long extensive list ranging from assistants to NCAA coaches and ended up interviewing 2 in house candidates, and BS guys like Marrone & Austin? This would be the biggest joke ever.

Plz for the love of God wait until you can at least interview McDaniels.

I just don't get the affection for Mularakey. Two failed attempts as a Head coach. Team did not improve when he took over. We had the worst two defeats of the year with him as our intern head coach. At his best how far can he really take this team. What maybe fighting for an afc south division title? Seriously can management say we can win a Super Bowl with this guy?

I feel the same way. If Mularkey is the man, you announce it on Black Monday. That shows confidence that you truly believe he's the future.

The reason I don't think he gets the job isn't about X's and O's as much as it is about finding some kind of identity and raising expectations.

After the Saints win, I thought it would have added confidence and character. For me, that was his shot. But all we got was the SOS and, if anything, the defense regressed giving up 30+ points in each of the final five games.

Yeah. There were injuries. But even bad players can play with intensity and I saw far too little heart from this team.

I think the front office knows Mularkey isn't the answer and will go interview Toub or McDaniels as soon as they're available.

I honestly don't think Rapoport has gotten one rumor or any source of news correct at all since the regular season ended.

The trouble is either we want to hire someone or restrict ourselves to coaches whose current team did not make the playoffs..

Again, hiring the coach before the GM would make them look like complete and total incompetent fools. They had to get the GM in place first so they can at least try to pass off the notion that the GM had serious input on the decision. Whether anyone actually buys it or not is beside the point. If they hire the coach first then there's absolutely no doubt it was AAS's decision. This way, there can at least be a little bit of doubt.

All you folks who keep saying "I don't buy it" or "let's wait and see it" are about to be severely disappointed.
