It was important to get this hire right so that we had real continuity over the next five plus years, not until 2017.

This isn't continuity. This is an interim coach bringing in his playbook, philosophies, and coaching staff. There is a very real possibility that the only thing that is the same is Mike Mularkey, which does not inspire confidence.
