They don't even care about that. The folks who inherited the team are just collecting Legaue Revenue Sharing checks and trying to spend as little coin as possible. They have other businesses they are running in Houston, and this team is the least of their concerns. It's a free yearly paycheck and like a landlord who ain't trying to hear any maintenance requests, they ain't trying to hear the fanbase.

Ownership does that when the local municipalities refuse to work with the owners to keep their stadium up to date or build a new one. It's the whole reason Bud moved from Houston, in the first place. I know because I lived in Houston while he was getting nowhere with Mayor Bob McNair....who just so happens to be the Texans new owner. Go figure.

The Astrodome was incredibly dilapidated at that point in time...a real dinosaur by today's standards. If San Diego, Oakland or St. Louis would be more accommodating in helping to build a new stadium, then they wouldn't be risking their team's moving. Cities make a HUGE profit off the team's presence and they act like it's only the team that's profiting from a stadium. They generate more local business each Sunday, than most conventions do

But, a sports team is obligated to do everything in its power to compete on the field. Who is at fault if you get blown out in all your home games and your players whine about lack of fans in the seats supporting their losses? It is surely not the fans! Been in the stadium when we were blown out by other teams. Had plenty of home fans in the seats but nothing to cheer about. Not spending another dime on the Titans until they earn it.

Its not that I don't agree with you....just pointing out what "could happen" in reference to a few people mentioning how low attendance would hurt those businesses and in turn the city would put pressure on the NFL to make an ownership change.....which is silly and would never happen. But a new owner could try to relocate the team. Maybe not overnight (see St Louis) by theoretically they could....using low attendance. Just poking the overreactions. ;)

Uuuuhhhhh. The Mayor was Bob Lanier and he is dead and most certainly not the current owner of the Texans Bob McNair who is also not related to Steve McNair, who is also deceased.
