Did anyone ever hear Robinson asked if he was able to make any HC candidate recommendations to AAS or had to accept Mularkey to get the job?

We're so far in the hole right now, it's going to take legit FA's and a good draft to get me somewhat excited. Then carry that over to wins.

Well Mularkey doesn't do it this year he should be gone on his 3 year contract. He should have gotten a 1 year contract with if you win 6 or more wins it will be extended . If not, you gotta go . Everything in the past he said was because of circumstances and of course he wants to forget the past. Yes because he was a loser. He should be on a tight lease. This is like Tommy hiring Whiz. At least interview good cosches. Oh well we stuck . Robinson appears to be legit. I understand he had to buy in to Mularkey or no job, but he appears to give more heart and feeling for this team than the other two at the press conference. This team lacks heart and it starts with the ownership. Maybe Robinson can turn it around. I wish he would be president . Maybe that will happen. Lol

At the time Whiz was supposed to be the best coaching candidate around. Now, it's clear that Zimmer was the correct answer, but at the time only Leinhart and Cardinals fans were poopooing Whiz (granted, those are probably the exact people that should be listened to).

    As for Robinson:
I think it's a good hire. A lot of folks are complaining about him letting Mularkey hang around. but if this dude has really been a Titans fan since '97 then I would imagine putting up with a potentially bad coach for a year or two is nothing compared to getting his dream job. If Mularkey works out and all of his past failures really were due to external circumstances, then great! If not, he'll fail long enough for Robinson to get some good drafts in before going out and hiring someone legit. As long as we have a good staff when Mariota hits his prime we'll be fine. We just may have to suffer a few more years, but look at the Panthers (ugh): they were either terrible or mediocre for four years, and now they're stacked. We already got Mariota out of our first terrible year, my hope is that Robinson can work some magic for the next few.

I didn't watch the whole presser. I was so disgusted by Underwood's treating the fans like retards I had to turn it off.

I did hear a few minutes of him on 104.5 after the presser and all I heard him say was something like "Mike and I immediately clicked in our vision....." But I'm not sure if he's been asked that specific question. I think it's crystal clear that this decision was made at least as far back as December though. If he did have the chance to recommend any candidates they obviously were not taken seriously.

Mularkey should have been on a 1 year trial and if that was to go well extended to 3 years. Robinson has everything to prove but I don't hold anything against him because I personally believe the owners have pushed mularkey on him. Anyone can say he should have been stronger and signed who he wanted but end of the day he doesn't write the cheques and has to ride that circus show out to satisfy the owners. I will reserve judgement till next season is over to decide if robinson is the person to move the titans forward.

With a staff like that, Chris Palmer is going to be our OC & Chuck Cecil your DC. You can't hire ANY assistant on a 1 year contract.

Assistants wouldn't stay or come here for only one year of job security. 3 years is a minimum for coaches. Long enough to recruit assistants but short enough to not have your hands tied if they fail.
