You get what you pay for. The Titans went second hand shopping when it comes to this coaching staff. Starting with Mularkey.

I've got some serious concerns about the long term prognosis for this quarterback. If he doesn't get killed before this franchise decides to do things the right way. I will be very surprised.

At least second hand shopping.. You get good value for your 50 cent pair of shorts.

These hires are more like digging through a landfill.

My god, every comment you make is about the future of Mariota. If he is as advertised, he will be okay and more important the Titans will be okay.

Good god.. where is the punchline? This joke is endless...

At least we know that when someone actually gets serious about this organization, they will have to fire every single one of these guys..

Mukarkey is being smart here with his hires. He is making sure that every hire is an inferior coach to himself so that he won't get canned mid-season ... he knows AAS won't want to make any of these scrubs the interim.

The only bad years Grimm had as an Oline coach was the last couple with Arizona. The qbs his line was trying to protect weren't even backup worthy. The year they had Warner his line only allowed 24 sacks. We all know how whiz's scheme is about the Qb standing in the pocket. Unless the Qb is one of the best in the league he will get planted often. Yes, he had Bettis for most of his time in Pittsburg, but his line also blocked for Willie Parker when he gained over 1400 yards. I actually think this was a good hire.

This is why I would have rather us waited for mcdaniels...he does a very good job of setting Brady up to make quick reads where the defenders have very little time to hit him.

Everyone keeps saying we should have waited for mcdaniels. His record as a head coach doesn't blow my skirt up anymore than mularkey's. Mcdaniels has one of the best qbs in the league running his offense, just like whiz did with rivers and Warner. Even Brady got sacked a ton this season running Mcdaniels offense. Great qbs can make coaches look better than they are.

If fans don't like mularkey because of his record and think that should be a main reason not to have hired him then everyone should be screaming for the Titans to hire coughlin, not Mcdaniels. At least coughlin has won a couple of Super Bowls and has a winning head coaching record.

I feel essentially the same way. McDaniels was a tire fire in Denver. Where you might apply some short leash excuses to Mularkey's bad HC record, with JM you had some specifically prominent bonehead moves.
That said, hiring JM here would have indicated a willingness to move on and certainly would have made this team more attractive to FA's etc.

I find Mularkey's single year as HC in Jax interesting - and what really was the factor that got him fired? I don't think there are a lot of HCs who have gotten fired after a single year in modern NFL history.
