Grimm was solid except when with Whiz, go figure. Age jokes aside, I kinda like this hire. We're a really young team with now a really experienced staff, a few of these guys have relationships dating back to the early 00's. I'm actually kind of interested to see how this plays out. Going to give them a chance before I start to trash them.

Cards drafted turds on OL during his entire tenure there. Levi Brown and bunch of nothing after. All those QBs and RBs were train wrecks as well.
If I recall correctly it was very much "This OL is getting very old" those last years of Whiz' QB scramble prior to getting canned.
I assume this hot **** new GM will be charged with bringing in some USDA prime on that line.

Oline was the position that I was really hoping they did their home work and found the right person to coach. So much for that idea. Grimm has had a horrible record with his lines giving up sacks. Hopefully that had more to do with the HCs he has had not wanting to give the line any help. We all know that was the case with Whiz.....for the sake of the team I hope that's what it has been.

This isn't about just Mariota. Sure we need to protect him. However, games are won and lost in the trenches. If the oline does not improve the run game is going to continue to suck no matter who the RB is. We can't max protect every dang series just to keep Mariota from being sacked. At some point they line does have to actually stand up on its own and win a one on one. Otherwise we will never be able to take some shots down the field.

Hope Grimm and the rest of the old guys get together and come up with a great plan. We need it.

The age thing is not that much of a concern to me if they know what they are doing. LeBeau is probably the oldest on the staff & I am pleased he is back. I really hope he is taking Spanos under his wing and teaching him the details of the defense. I guy like Spanos working with LeBeau has a great chance to learn from a guy that can help him become a DC. Hopefully he sees that chance and takes advantage of it..
